Iāve been to this store quite frequently within the past months and while I do enjoy it, I do have some complaints. Recently Iāve been seeing lots of Platoās Closet accounts on TikTok and Instagram going through a ābuyā with them. They check for stains, wear and if the clothes are dated or not. Most of the clothing at this store are good, and fairly priced. But the amount of stains I have seen on the clothing in this store is kinda crazy. I went in the store on Monday, and found some cute stuff I wanted to try on. I found a pair of pink free people shorts, looked new on the outside. Stains in the crotch area when I went to try them on! I was absolutely disgusted. The fact that the workers went through someoneās clothes without checking for stains is unacceptable. Iāve seen tiny stains here and there on clothing but honestly they need to step up on what they buy and donāt buy. The workers are nice, no complaints about them. This one man, in his 30s maybe was so kind to me and a couple of my girlfriends when we entered the store. He was very helpful is letting us know what the price was on some things if not labeled (etc.) The only complaint I have is about one older woman particularly. When I went into the store on Monday, I walked past the counter and smelt a rancid smell. It wasnāt even like someone forgot to maybe put on deodorant that day, it was TERRIBLE. Itās not even like a whiff when you walk past her, itās even when your standing 10 feet away from her! Thatās not the first time Iāve smelt her odor before. Although she is nice, employees should know basic hygiene, especially when you work with people all day? If I was new to the store I would have immediately left because hygiene and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to sell some clothes Saturday night (5-12-18). Drove 40 minutes through the pouring rain and got there around 7:50. When I walked in and the kid behind the counter saw me with my container, he looked at the other employee and made a nasty face. The girl told me they stopped taking more clothes for the night at 8pm. I told her it wasn't 8 yet (but I get it, close enough) and she said that they still had a lot of clothes to go through. No sorry for the inconvenience, nothing. So I left. I came back the next morning (5-13-18) at 11:30 and the same angsty teenager was behind the counter. No greeting, no explanation of what the process was or what to do. The wait time on the screen said 20-30 minutes. An hour later, I got a text saying my stuff was ready. I came in and he told me they were buying 24 items for $77 and told me to have a nice day (Which seemed like he was about to go into cardiac arrest being that nice). However, after getting the money and leaving I checked and saw I was shorted $10 and was only given $67. I realize that was my fault and I should have checked before putting the money in my pocket which is why I didn't call or go back to make a big deal about because I knew I wasn't getting the $10 owed to me. But I trusted he was giving me the correct amount of money and didn't check since that's his job. They need to hire new, friendly staff or retrain the ones working there. If you want to be miserable to people coming in then get a job at the DMV; not retail where part of the job is customer service. Are employees at Plato's Closet treated that bad that they are all rude and miserable because this is an obvious trend with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDon't waste your time selling clothes at this location, take them to the Platos Closet in Deptford instead. I dropped two bags of clothes off shortly after 10am, I was told it would be roughly an hour and a half. I left and shopped at the mall to kill time, after three hours I called the store to ask if I could have a rough estimate on how much longer because I was going to go home and wait, but if it was going to be done soon I would stay in the area. I don't mind waiting. I understand they can get very busy. The woman on the phone sounded very displeased when I asked and I was told two more hours, however immediately after hanging up I received a text that my offer was done and ready for pick up. When I got back the woman at the counter in a smug tone told me they āpassedā on all my clothes. I could tell immediately they did not open my bags or look at my clothes. Before dropping the clothes off I tied the handles of the bags in bowās and upon receiving the bags back they were still tied in bows and after opening them I could see the clothes were still folded and stacked in the exact same order I left them in. I took the same clothes to the Deptford location and they bought every piece of clothing. All the items were in season and style such as shorts, tank tops, sun dresses, ect.. Half the clothes still had tags, and the others were in perfect condition and washed prior to drop off. I don't know if itās because I called or if it's just pure laziness, but this is not the first time I have taken clothes to this location and they didn't look through them. Save yourself the time and aggravation and go to...
