We booked the Deluxe Snorkeling Tour to Molokini and Turtle Town. The snorkeling at Molokini and Turtle Town was phenonemenal but I'm giving two stars for the actual boat tour experience as it was quite poor and disorganized. If you want to snorkel Molokini, I would definitely book with a different tour operator instead of Kai Kanani. The sunrise tour might be different but this tour was completely PACKED with people. It honestly felt like we were at our complete capacity if not more. Given the crowdedness, you think the crew would encourage people to spread out throughout the boat but instead, we were squeezed in the front after the mandatory safety briefing at the bow and no one advised us to move about. Food and drink service was pretty poor as a result and you often got skipped over for food and had to flag down a crew member if you wanted your meal or drink. In addition to being cramped and crowded the entire time, we were given very little safety instructions or direction on where to go once we were in the water. For example, at Turtle Town, the crew member said stay between this rock and this rock but pointed vaguely at an entire row of rocks and was speaking towards the water half the time so you could not hear. They also angled the boat so people got off and would head completely in the wrong direction. They yelled for us to go towards the crew member on the surf board and as we headed to swim towards him, he dove in the water and disappeared for several minutes so no one knew where to go. The only reason we found the turtles was because the guide of a kayak tour happened to be there as well. He also gave us safety tips to stay away from a certain area where the surf could pull you towards the rocks. Later on, I would see so many people, including little kids, from our boat getting dangeorusly close to that area and there was no crew member from Kai Kanani to warn them or keep watch. Instead, they argued about which crew member should go in the water and delayed a lot of people getting in. I went on another snorkel tour on the same exact type of boat (catamaran) a few days later and it was night and day in terms of service and experience. It showed me how poor the Kai Kanani tour was in comparison even though the snorkeling at Molokini and Turtle Town was incredible. If you decide to go, definitely go with another...

We were unfortunately on Maui during a very windy week. The day that we had booked our sunset sail was EXTREMELY windy and we were certain that it was going to get cancelled due to weather. To our surprise the cruise was not cancelled. Due to the high wind and waves, loading (which is the “adventure” part of this experience) took over 20 minutes. Loading did not seem safe at all and I can say for certain that if my kids were there, I would have walked away without a refund before I had them attempt to get on the boat in the rough conditions that we did. If you are older, have little ones or mobility issues, I would say this isn’t the boat for you.

Now to the real issue. We booked what was advertised as a “2 hour sail”. Unfortunately what we received was 1:20 minute sail. For nearly $500 for two, this was certainly not worth the money. The food and drinks were good but it all felt very rushed. We had enough time to quickly eat, have two drinks and then we were back.

The staff were nice and the boat was nice. What wasn’t nice was getting jipped on the sail time.

I understand that the weather can’t be controlled and we were just unlucky with a super rough loading/unloading and sail, but falsely advertising how long the experience is controllable and unacceptable. I personally reached out to the company about this shortcoming and their resolution was 20% off my next adventure with them 🙄. I live in...

I recently had the pleasure of booking a sunrise snorkeling excursion with Kai Kanani, and I must say it was one of the best experiences of my life. From start to finish, the entire trip was well-organized, professional, and most importantly, incredibly fun!

Firstly, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. They made sure that we had all the necessary equipment, and provided us with clear instructions on how to use it. Their knowledge of the local marine life was impressive, and they were able to answer all of our questions with enthusiasm and expertise.

Once we got into the water, it was clear that we were in for a treat. The coral reefs, fishes and sea turtles we saw were stunning, and the water was crystal clear. The guides led us on a well-planned route that allowed us to see the most diverse range of marine life possible. I was particularly impressed with how environmentally conscious the team was.

After the snorkeling, we were treated to a delicious breakfast, which was the perfect way to end the trip. Overall, I would highly recommend Kai Kanani to anyone looking for a fun and educational snorkeling experience. Their team's expertise and passion for the marine ecosystem made the trip not just enjoyable, but also...

We did the Deluxe Sunrise Snorkel out to Molokini stopping at Turtle Town on the way back. Was skeptical about pricing but it seems to be par for the course so what can you do. We were staying in Wailea and got a hotel pickup... bang on time! Loved the local beach access which was much closer to our hotel AND Molokini than traveling all the way to Lahaina only to spend time on the boat coming back missing out on snorkel time. The tour gave us 45 minutes at Molokini and 45 minutes at Turtle Town and, since we were on the water early, there were hardly any other boats at the crater when we arrived. While the snorkeling itself wasn't anything to write home about (not a fault of the Kai Kanani team, I've been spoiled with other experiences elsewhere in the world) the service and team were outstanding. Clear concise instructions, extremely attentive to all the passengers whether that be helping them with equipment, getting them a drink when they noticed their cup was empty or taking garbage once they'd finished. Have nothing to compare them to but I wouldn't hesitate in recommending. A truly professional outfit with a very nice vessel!

We had an unforgettable experience snorkeling the Molokini Crater with Kai Kanani. They took us out to Molokini on a large catamaran, departing from Maluaka Beach. I was a very comfortable, scenic sail from the beach to Molokini. Out there and back the crew took care of us with drinks, snacks, and lunch; all we had to do was ask, they were very attentive. But that was just the creature comforts of the cruise to the snorkeling location. Once there, I had the experience of a lifetime; the water was crystal clear and warm, sheltered from waves, just delightful to snorkel in. We saw lots of colorful fish on the coral reef, and even a group of rays leisurely cruising around the bottom for a long while. This was a bucket list experience for me, I highly recommend snorkeling the Molokini Crater, and doing it with Kai Kanani, they did an excellent job taking care of us and ensuring we had a great experience.

A high class touring experience with friendly staff, a beautiful boat, and amazing views. We went on a whale watching trip in the afternoon sailing out of Kihei. There is a meeting area to gather above the beach before walking down. They ask you to park in their gravel lot and lock the gate while you are out which is nice. It is a beach entrance to the boat - you walk up stairs on the bow, so plan to get wet up to your waist and wear appropriate footwear. Once out, the captain located whales quickly and the staff shared their knowledge. They offer two free drinks per legal adult, which is a bonus, and they have light snacks. The boat is beautiful and large enough for everyone to walk around comfortably. There is a large galley with seating for around 30, but you'll want to spend your time on the deck for sure. Overall, it is a bit pricey, but it is worth it to get a better perspective of the Island.
