Maui Hands - Wailea — Attraction in Maui

Very disappointing.

After spending thousands of $$$ at Maui Hands on an exquisite ring, a gift from my husband, I took it in to Maui Hands to see if the designer, Pratima, would buff and clean it. I only wore it on special occasions but it did have some scratches. I was told by the employee that there might be a minimal charge, but she said probably not since we spent so much for it. After a week or so, Maui Hands called to let me know there was a deep scratch and Pratima didn’t want to buff it all the way out due to losing too much gold in the process. I agreed. Another week or so later, Maui Hands called to tell me the ring was finished, saying it was absolutely stunning and there was a minimal charge. Reiterating how gorgeous the ring turned out. I asked what the charge was and was told $125. Both my Husband and I were stunned. Whenever any of my expensive jewelry needs adjusting, polished, cleaned or checked, there has never been a charge added by our jeweler in Utah. Only if I added gemstones or made a major change. I wondered why no one called me first to get approval? I would have told them no, then take it in to our trusted jeweler in Utah.

We went in to pick up the ring and I spoke with the employee about my anger over the cost and the way it was handled. She was very defensive. She added that she’s never heard of any jeweler not charging for anything. When I got the ring home, after the charge was dropped, the ring is damaged. It looks as though an orbital sander was used on it causing a very scuffed up surface. The disappointment continues.

Needless to say, I will never shop at any Maui Hands again and I would recommend to anyone,...

My husband and I fell in LOVE with a painting that we saw here at Maui Hands in January.

Addy was great help in answering all of our questions about it, sorting out the shipping process and getting it safely home to us in Alberta, Canada!

It arrived a few days ago, and we were sooo excited to unbox it. It was in perfect condition!
