Four adults and four children. The children were ages 3-8. The Kids menu had only three options. French Fries were Not offered, but small VERY SPICY potatoes were mandated. Before ordering, I asked if the children who all asked for French Fries could substate the potatoes for French fries, but I was told "No." I told the waiter that French Fries were available at Lunch so why was it Not possible to obtain them for the Kids at dinner. The answer I received was akin to the equipment is moved away at night. About an hour later a woman, who probably was some form of manager, although she never introduced herself, her name, her title asked: "How is everything?" I'm sure she expected the typical fine, but I answered: "Why would you Not offer French Fries to children on a Kids Menu and instead serve VERY SPICEY potatoes that you can see from the plates were Not eaten and she said they are available at one of our other kitchens, but failed to specify the name of the restaurant or do anything to change the situation and just seemed to want to leave without a conversation. Before we adults ordered dinner, we were told by the waiter who could barely speak English and had such a bad shake that he would spill a small percentage of the wine bottle he was pouring what the Fresh Catch special was. He stated the form of preparation, which no one could understand. I asked him to repeat the form of preparation, which he did so poorly no one again could understand him. I asked him a third time to clearly and distinctly and slowly recite the preparation and one of the items he stated was the Fresh Catch was served with RICE. All four adults ordered the Fresh Catch, as no one wanted a Pizza or a vegetarian dish. When the Fresh Catch was delivered and after the waiter asked how the Fresh Catch was, I asked him: "Where is the RICE!?" He said it's there, pointing to the plate. I said: "WHERE???" He then said: "It's rice puree." and he walked away. I was very dissatisfied with the lack of choices and that I was promised RICE, Not a very small amount of "liquid rice" Sadly, because there were eight of us, I was forced to pay the Gratuity stated on the receipt. No one cares at Olivine. The Fresh Catch was small, tasteless and substandard. A fish sandwich from McDonalds with French Fries would have been tastier and I dislike McDonalds immensely! I have stayed at the Grand Wilea at different time for over thirty-years and the Molokini Bistro was much better than Olivine. I will never dine at anything other than my lounge chair for lunch and ensure I dine for dinner anywhere else. My wife and I went to the Four Seasons every day for breakfast. We didn't know Olivine was so terrible....

Read moreMy wife and I stayed at the Grand Wailea for a few nights on our honeymoon and we visited Bistro Molokini every chance we got! The restaurant/bar is conveniently located right next to the amazing pools which makes it a good place to grab a drink or some food while you relax. Its location makes it a good choice, but what makes it an excellent choice is the quality of the drinks/food and the service!! Our favorite bartender was by far - Mike, or as we found out some call him, "the gentle giant". As his nickname suggests he is a tall, super friendly guy. He is also incredibly knowledgeable about everything and anything Maui. Everyday we would stop by around lunch, or earlier ;) , grab some food and a delicious Mai Tai (a drink he is apparently known for, as we heard several customers from the pool request a 'Mai Tai from Mike') and he would give us tips on the best hidden gem spots on the island for our daily excursions, all of which were spot on!! We both really enjoyed the views from our room and the beautiful hotel but what really makes it a memorable experience, and one we will definitely be repeating, is outstanding service like this. Thank you Mike! We highly suggest you check out Bistro Molokini and enjoy some delicious Mai Tai's with Mike, the...
