The one star is for the Sprouts App and Instacart service they use for delivery. I have always loved Sprouts but that changed today with one incident. Received an email promoting free delivery for first time users and thought I would give it a try today on Christmas Eve since my child is sick. I was unable to leave the house and wanted to try to make him a soup.
Well a lovely person promptly picked up the order. During the entire shopping experience he asked me about replacements and even took pictures. I was hopeful and was like wow I guess I should try this service all the time. I was super wrong. He finished the order around 12:30 but it was scheduled to get to me around 2:44pm. I said well I can wait. 2:44pm came and inside the Sprouts app it stated he was delivering other orders. Well around 3:15 the ENTIRE conversation disappeared and my order was still in progressing.
I just kept refreshing the app thinking I did something on my end since this was my first time trying to get delivery. Nope the conversation was no where to be found but get this my card was surely charged the minute I placed the order. So now instead of dealing with Sprouts who I ordered through they are forcing me to deal with Instacart which no less than a 40 minute hold time to speak with a live person.
When I finally spoke with the someone they stated there was a system outage and all they could do was cancel my order. I have been sitting here with a sick child waiting for groceries that I will not be receiving since I placed the order at 10:30am. The representative stated there was an outage and for my time they could give a 5 dollar credit. Yes a whole dollar for every hour I waited for my groceries....
Read moreI went to the new sprouts in McKinney. The store was clean and the employees were really helpful and friendly. To be completely honest, I really didn't understand the store or why they call themselves a farmers market. When I think of farmers markets, I think of very fresh vegetables that are coming from area farmers. Everything that they had to offer vegetable wise I could have gotten at Kroger for a more competitive price. The packaging was identical to big stores produce. There's a place in Plano called Georgia's Farmers market . When you buy tomatoes for example there is dirt near the stem area. As well as any other vegetables that they sell. You pay a little extra for those vegetables but it's because they actually have flavor and are not grown in a hot house. I guess that was the kind of store I was looking forward to going to. The rest of the store is really cool. There's a lot of fresh, original and organic things in there kind of like a Trader Joe's but with more variety. I'll try going back again in a few months but I honestly thought it was going to be a closer answer than driving to Plano. I still gave it a five-star rating because of how clean and friendly everybody was but, it was overpriced and really not what it...
