First off let me just say, Beale Street Landing was kind of a waste. Really nothing to do there except get on the boat, gift shop and maybe look at the view. Also, I went there with my friend to skate, and I understand getting kicked out for skating, but I got kicked out of the restaurant. How could someone expect me to know what to do when one guy says I cant sit here than a lady says I can. I used to go in there almost everyday for water and to sit and the same lady would come and give us water and great service. Now I really can't stand the place. Really not a fan of anything except the fact that they have great skatespots. If your'e going to build something like that, at least have an indoor or shady outdoor seating area with fans. There's no way to get out of the heat without having to pay for overpriced food or just standing inside. Want to go somewhere nice go to harbor town. As a local and someone who used to go to school in Harbortown, Beale street ladning is very much like an overpriced museum. Want to have the real experience, go to Harbortown, sit on the bluff, walk the trails and when your done, Downtown is...
Read moreAttended a conference at the structure built originally for a restaurant. The location is great. I was there for three days last week. Great views of the river and city. Taking a break outside of the former restaurant is relaxing as walkers, runners, bikers and annoying electric scooters cruise by along with river traffic. Very peaceful views. Not so good is the AC noise in the room which makes it difficult to hear speakers without microphones. Sadly the concrete surrounding the structure is cracking and and does not do the setting justice. The outdoor seating area has cushions and tables which is great for outdoor break-out meetings....sometimes the cushions were there and sometimes the staff took them away...not sure why. Overall a great view...as a conference location it is a good place but not a...
Read moreA very under utilized spot. It's great location on the river with a close proximity to Beale St. and the trail systems. Last year Grind City had a pop-up that was awesome to see in the space, but for some reason, that wasn't supported and the building strangely remained vacant. I would love to see a brewery in the building to activate the space year round and bring some life into the area and take advantage of some of the best real estate in a Memphis. I hope whomever is managing this space considers a more permanent activation, that is more public facing and City serving, as it could be a great asset to the City beyond a temporary...
