I hadn't shopped in an AJ's in probably well over 15 years but on Sunday (2/18) around 6 ish I decided I wanted something decadent so my boyfriend & I went after our dinner at Rodizio Grill. We walked around the whole store until we found the bakery & strolled around until gazing upon exactly what I wanted. In the glass case was a German chocolate brownie. As we walk up for a closer look there is a customer already being helped by the bakery attendant. So we stand there patiently waiting for our turn. In the most literal sense we were standing there silently. Not even speaking to each other. More than likely on our phones or just mindlessly looking at the brownie or whatever waiting to be helped. As the customer and bakery attendant go to the register the bakery attendant says to that customer (that she was already helping when we walked up) "here let me check you out since YOU were here first." Like excuse me? That was incredibly rude and very uncalled for because I wasn't cutting the line. If I was standing there staring her down, saying "excuse me can you help me?" over & over, being rude or loud or impatient I'd totally understand her saying that however I was literally standing there quietly. The 2nd bakery attendant started calling out numbers, "31..32" and that's when we realized we needed to pull a number so my bf goes to grab one and says "hey I just pulled 31!" and that bakery attendant was more than friendly. The first one ran to the back to hide because she didn't want to serve me. She thought I was trying to cut a line that had a number system so either way you look at it it didn't make any sense for her to say something rude about me to another customer. I heard her loud and clear and she is the reason I will not shop in AJs anymore. I felt incredibly unwelcome and she should feel ashamed of herself for saying something rude and wrong rather than saying "hey we'll be right with you, grab a number." She's a shorter white woman with blonde hair (Not sure if she had glasses or not) the nice lady who checked me out was taller and did have glasses. But management needs to speak to the other woman because she's mean & unnecessary. Like sorry I walked up to make a purchase. Please fire her if this is how she...
Read moreMy daughter and I frequent Aj’s at least once a month we go on a lunch date we love the food and the employees are always very polite, helpful and very friendly. However yesterday we went and that was not the case. I was at the sushi bar and sent my daughter to pay for our salads and get drinks. She is 15 years old so I’m not sure if that was the reason for the poor customer service given by Jen S. There was no one in line or around the counters when she got there. Jen made eye contact but continued to do other things and went to the soup bar a couple of times and made herself look busy never asked my daughter if she had been helped. Then someone came up and she helped them instead. She assisted 3 people while my daughter stood at the register with her salads. I walked over and she said to take a number so we did and continue to wait… again. She rang us up in a hurry and I asked for forks which i never have to ask for they usually see a salad and they put them in the bag. I asked for them and she didn’t give us any she walked away and called the next number. After our salads we wanted to take some soup to go so back to her counter we went again. We took a number she called it and I walked up to the counter she acted like she didn’t see us and flipped the number to the next and started to help the next person . Thankfully there was another representative by the register I got her attention and she helped us. I’m not quite sure why Jen was rude and seemed unwilling to help us. We have done this routine for years since my daughter was 3 she is now 15. We have never had poor customer service at Aj’s. Not at any of them. When she did ring us up she was rude, in a hurry didn’t give what we asked for and walked away knowing she didn’t give us what I had just asked for. Her making eye contact with my daughter and totally ignoring her standing there the entire time our sushi was made was the worst customer service. Her attitude and customer service was not that of Aj’s and what we are used to. Very turned off by our last...
Read moreI haven't had a bad experience with them before. However this week was just horrible. I called in yesterday to put in an order for a cake for my father's birthday. I looked up online what cakes were available, so I wouldn't have to waste their time. After being on hold for 10 minutes or so, I asked for a mango raspberry cake. The lady kept trying to persuade and insist I get a strawberry cake. I said he had an allergy to strawberries, so that's why I wanted the mango raspberry. Obviously not listening, she insists again I should get the strawberry cake. I again had to say he is allergic to strawberries. So anything with strawberries isn't an option. Then I eventually end up being hung up on when I asked what she said, as I had a lot of background noise around me. So I had to call back just to confirm my order was in. I then came in today to pick up. I stand in line behind 6 people. Then get ignored as they call numbers. I wasn't sure if I had to go get a number, as I was told to just walk up and pick up. So as it gets down to just another customer and myself. They completely ignore we had been standing there, and said not a word to us. So we asked if we needed a number. And they continue to call out a number. So it irked me that it was as we did not exist without a number, although we were the only people around. I understand if that is their protocol, but that could have been said when we were the only ones left. Not sure if it's just weekdays, but the customer service is just horrible. I don't know if I can ever return to...
