My two small pets are used to been with me all day. Every time I go out of town, they stay at home with my dad. My dad passed away. So on my last trip I left the pets with JC. He had two type of boarding, either at the pet shop or at his home. He said he had a lady that would take care of them from 7 AM to 7 PM until he got home, of course he charges extra for this service and I understand, but to me it was worth it because my pets are used to been with me at home all day. When I went to dropped them off he ask me "How old was my Maltese?", he had done the grooming before for both, he didn't know? He said he usually didn't keep older dogs but in this case he would keep him. Really? Like he was doing me a favor. I ask him if I could call the lady to check up on them, "No, he said I could call him, but he didn't answer his phone on Sunday or Monday because it was his days off". Of course this he told me the day that I dropped him off. My maltese was old but in perfect health, he had no known sickness and was rather active. My vet did a complete physical every year, so I know that he didn't have any major illness. I had left him with my vet phone number for any emergency. If he is not willing to answer the phone on "His days off" why does he provides a pet hotel service? I guess he doesn't realize that to the owner, this is not JUST a pet, the little ones are FAMILY. When I picked him up on Saturday, August 9th, he said that he had been fine all week except for that morning, he appeared to stumble when he walked; really? it turned out that my pet lost 2 lbs in those 6 days from not eating. I am not a vet, but what appears to me is that because he was used to been with me all day and not seeing me, he probably was depressed and stop eating all together. Well, what happened with the lady that was supposed to take care of him from 7 am to 7 pm? She didn't notice that the pet was not eating? really? This place was recommended to me, but I don't know that anybody knows what goes on after owners leave their pet in this place. The grooming was OK, so I figure that the pet hotel service would have been OK. My little Maltese passed away on Sunday, the day after I picked him up from JC's place. Then he tells my husband that he noticed Tuesday of that week that he didn't wanted to eat. If that's so, then why didn't he call me to let me know? Why didn't he take him to my vet or to his vet? I would have gladly paid for the vet's bill. If he couldn't have made time to take him to the vet, I would have called one of my friends to take him. To JC it is just another dog, to me it was my baby. My personal feeling is that he was not properly cared for, either the lady or JC should have noticed that this small maltese was not eating; I took a large bag of food for them plus the snacks. I don't know if it's not giving a tinker's d_ _ _ _, or a lack of experience. Supposedly JC has yearssssssssss of experience, so it couldn't has been that. After crying days to the point that my eyelids were swollen I called the vet, to confirm what JC had told my husband and to see if it made sense to him. JC said to my husband that because the pet was old he probably had a blood sugar drop and that's what caused him to get sick. Again I ask, in that case why didn't he take him to a vet? This didn't make sense to my vet, who had a complete medical history on the pet and would see him for annual check up, vaccination and whenever he got sick. There has been good reviews and bad review for this place and for JC. You can draw your own conclusion. By the way, the hotel boarding had to be paid in advance...

Among the reviews of JC and his crew I read that he is hitting the dogs so they behave better. Maybe only the little dogs!? Because the big dogs bite and I do not think that anybody will risk their health just to make a dog stay still for grooming. Besides, Juan Carlos has a way with dogs and the dogs feel his love, that as far as a saw, in almost four years, no dog has barked at him (big or small). I am a human doctor (anesthesiologist) so I am used, somehow, into observing and recognizing the behavior changes after suffering a physical or psychological trauma, does not matter if human or animal. Both react to pain even if sometimes the expression is different (e.g. human can quantifies it through words-saying how much, dogs cannot). There was no suffering on my baby's face coming out of the grooming. And I am an exaggerated father. I would harm anybody/ that makes my beautiful girl suffer. But let me tell you my experience; I was with Juan Carlos for 2.5 years after which I decided to move my baby to a closer grooming. In less than 4 months she developed 2 ear infections, and she started with a dermatitis which I barely solved with a Board Certified in Dermatology veterinarian doctor. It was also flee infestation and an urinary track infection. This is from a facility close to Coral Gables that one can be sure charges a lot more than Juan Carlos (speaking of a grooming mill...). People there are really catering to the customers, treating them as VIPs but it does not matter when the microbes transmit from one dog to the next. I spent a lot in treatments, but nothing solved the problem before I brought her back to Juan Carlos. No more infections, Juan Carlos even took all flees out and talked me into calling my pest control company to spray for flees. He even decided to take her in again for a flee bath after three days without charge. She never has had flees before, and not any more after we came back. Nor ear infections, or skin infections, or urinary tract infections. If this seems to you that this person can be qualified as not caring, do not bring your baby there, but somewhere-else. I hope you will not regret it later, like I did. Meantime, my Bella is happy and clean, and looked her best, which it did not happen in any other place. Dr. Laurentiu...
🚫This place is awful, dirty, smells like the urine of animals that sit in cages for 12 hours waiting for their turn to get a haircut. They whine and no one cares. Mockery. Your staff is rude, as is the owner of this establishment. You call your salon European, but only the cardboard boxes of European brands with which you decorate your dirty and smelly salon are European in it. You are torturing animals. The salon is staffed by Cubans who do not speak English. This morning, by appointment, I brought my pet for a haircut, at 9:00 in the morning. They put my dog in a cage and told me to pick him up at 7:00 pm😳. They say we have a lot of work. Are you seriously ??? I asked the woman why they recorded at 9:00 in the morning if they have a lot of work. The woman called the owner and gave me the phone. I asked him this question, but he didn't have an answer. His words (I am the owner here and it is normal to keep animals in a cage for 12 hours) he was rude and rude, I sent him to hell, took my dog. Thank God I didn't leave my pet with them. I'm reading reviews of this place now and I'm shocked. This is not a European salon, this is a Cuban dirty booth where flayers work, who should be put in a cage instead of poor animals. Do not trust your pets and avoid this salon. And you, dear host, should think about your service and manner of communication. I'll call Animal Welfare and have them check on you and your unhygienic salon, hopefully close it for good. What you are doing to animals is animal cruelty, and you...
