2018 EXPERIENCE

An unplanned, over extended stop in Miami is what brought us here as we were out of activity ideas. Let it be known that I am not a fan of museums but enjoyed myself here. Time spent was a little over 4 hours.

TICKETS: We purchased them online for the same day at $29/adult that includes unlimited time inside and one show in the planetarium. If you'd like to see more shows, you can purchase tickets at Member Services desk for $7/show.

ATMOSPHERE: The complex rises six levels with an attached two-story high planetarium. A food truck and cafe are available along with a rooftop observation deck. Lines and crowds were minimal on this particular Wednesday in June. Signage is poor so definitely take a map, or ask one of the many staff members around. A few school/camp groups were here with a few exhibits overrun with screaming, excited, out-of-control kids but it wasn't too bad, LOL.

CHECK IN: For pre-purchased tickets, check in at the kiosk outside of Member Services where a wristband will be issued to you.

FOOD AT SCIENCE: Pricey! We got a grilled cheese, tuna melt, tater tots and two soft drinks which rang up at $32. Eat before you come.

EXHIBITS: Planetarium (level 1) is a 3D, 8K, domed theater that offers three 20-minute shows. Dynamic Earth, To Space and Back, Asteroid Mission Extreme 3D. Dynamic Earth focused on earth's atmosphere and oceans and how they tie in together to create this magical place we call home. To Space and Back wasn't what I expected as I thought it'd focus on outer space but instead stayed close to earth and its atmosphere. I got a bit dizzy at times due to the camera's movements and stationary objects in my peripheral vision.

The Power of Poison (level 1) was a mix of artificial and alive exhibits (including frogs and a tarantula) on everything poison. An interesting feature to me was The Mad Hatter and mercury poisoning exhibit. The Tale of Toxicology live show was a snooze and more for little ones, as was the Me Lass exhibit.

Da Vinci Inventions (levels 2 & 3) showcased a lot of hands-on exhibits, replicated props and paintings of the Italian genius. Having seen the real deals in Italy and France, we breezed through the level 3 showing.

Aquarium The Deep (level 2, access from either levels 1 or 3 from the inside) featured views of the aquarium from below and live ocean life.

Feather to the Stars (level 3) was about flight, from aircraft to birds and dinosaurs, it was more for little ones.

Aquarium The Dive (level 3) had several aquariums full of sea life including rays, sharks and jellyfish.

Aquarium Royal Caribbean Vista & River of Grass (level 4) was the most interesting to me with live alligators, ducks, birds and fish.

Observation Deck (level 6) offered three vantage points of the city and bay, not a 360° view, unfortunately.

SERVICE: All staff members were friendly and knowledgeable.

OVERALL: We had an interesting time here and learned a few things. Pricey, but what in...

The Philip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is undoubtedly one of the top tourist attractions in Miami. Situated in downtown Miami, this museum boasts an extensive collection of interactive exhibits and experiences that are fun and educational for visitors of all ages.

One of the most popular attractions in the museum is the aquarium, which features a range of marine life, including colorful fish, giant turtles, and even sharks. Visitors can watch the sea creatures swimming around in their habitats, and learn about their behavior and habits.

Apart from the aquarium, the museum is also home to several other exhibits that focus on different aspects of science and technology. These include the Planetarium, which features a 67-foot dome that projects stunning visuals of the nighttime sky, and the Feathers to the Stars exhibit, which explores the science behind human flight and space exploration.

Other highlights of the museum include the Living Core exhibit, which allows visitors to explore the wonders of the earth and its natural world, and the Inventors in Residence program, which showcases innovative ideas and inventions by local inventors and entrepreneurs.

In short, the Philip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is a truly breathtaking place that offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into the world of science and technology. Whether you’re a science buff, a nature lover, or simply looking for a fun and educational experience, this museum is definitely worth a visit.

My day .... The Story..

It was a sunny day in November 2022 when I met up with my friends Valbrun and Neg Okap at the Philip and Patricia Frost Museum.

The museum was located in downtown Miami and had recently opened its doors to the public.

We started our day by exploring the various exhibits in the museum. The stunning works of art, interactive displays, and immersive virtual reality experiences left us in awe. We were particularly impressed by the advanced technology used in the museum.

As we made our way through the museum, we stopped by the café to grab a quick snack. We sat outside on the patio area and enjoyed the pleasant weather while chit-chatting about our lives and catching up on old times.

After our break, we returned to the museum to view the impressive aquarium with its diverse range of marine life. We took some great pictures and even petted a stingray!

As the afternoon began to wind down, we decided to watch a movie in the museum's giant IMAX theater. The movie was a thrilling adventure about the importance of preserving our planet and its natural resources. We left feeling inspired and motivated to do our part to protect the environment.

It was a fantastic day spent with two of my closest friends, and I felt truly grateful for the experience. We said our goodbyes and made plans to see each other again soon ,

Thank you Guys : The Staff of Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum ... ...

The frost museum was so much fun. I came here on a double date with my best friend as well as my 18 year old daughter and her friend. I do want to warn everyone that the parking is 18 dollars. Which I kinda found a bit high since we still have to pay to enter the museum. But aside from that, the property is beautiful, the walk to the museum from the parking lot and all of the space and sitting outside was so nice. When you get to the museum you have to buy a ticket which is 30 bucks per person. I used the kiosk s at the beginning.

When you enter the wall against the elevator, it has a QR code that you need to scan so you can reserve your booking for the shows from the frost planetarium. The building has a layout of 5 floors plus the rooftop. They do suggest to start from the top and make your way to the bottom floor. But we did the opposite. We started on the first floor which has the planetarium, the shark room, and the power of science room. The planetarium is a short movie they do change them out every so often. I really love the experience in there. It's like you're in a dome and you're looking up. You can't get a bit dizzy but just look down and you'll be fine. The shark room is an temporary exhibit that gets changed out every few months. And then the power of science is a large room that has a lot like science information, things to interact with and it has on the second level with a dome into the aquarium. Level 2 and level 3 both have different rooms with different activities which includes aquariums and sealife. Level four has the aquarium from above as well as some other animal life. Level 5 is the marine conversation wet lab. Which really has nothing for now besides the lab that an employee station there explaining what they do and stuff. So cool information. Lastly the roof top, more known as the sun spot. Which has a few devices about solar energy which you can interact as well as the observation deck, which at the moment there's not much to see since everything is under construction from across the buildings. So it's not so nice. Back to the first floor you do have a gift shop and in the back you will find the food. I will say it's very expensive. I spend about 90 bucks on food for four which was two meals of chicken tenders and fries, one cheeseburger and a side of Mac and cheese and 3 soda cans. I do not recommend the burger as it seems to be frozen. My friend got a pizza which is a pretty big pizza for 15 bucks not bad and pretty good.

So over all. I loved the experience we also went on a Wednesday from 2 til close. I feel that was a good amount of time to spend there. I recommend to eat before coming. I do love the experience but it's more of a one time visit unless they bring a very cool exhibit that I need to see. But I can see parents coming here more often since they do have a lot of kid activities and more stuff to...
