Metro Square Shopping Center — Attraction in Middletown

The owner of this site should be ashamed of himself! Terrible, terrible way to promote the area with this parking scam! The lot is under surveillance from a 2nd floor unit and rather than notify you, they contact a manned tow truck on site that tows vehicles the minute you venture off the property. Signage is terrible (probably intentional!). One is faded and the other looks like some type of event notice. I looked for signage when I parked and didn't see any. D&L told me they towed 7 cars the day they got mine (and the day was far from over!). Owner and D&L must certainly have an "agreement"! My message to the owner: You must be a real tool! I doubt you sleep well! And....ZEREO...

Your car will be towed if you park in the metro square shopping center and walk to main street. There is an attendant who is employed by the towing company who watches every who parks in the lot. If you leave the plaza, you will be towed. I work in the area and eat at the restaurants in the plaza, and for the hour I am there I see at least 2 cars being towed. The town of middletown is completely fine with this disgraceful scam because you are not paying to park your car at the meters in the street. So I'd imagine complaining to them would be futile. Normally I would say that Metro Square is a pretty decent place. However it completely ruins the feeling of community when there is a security guard there, hired to force people to leave if they've parked in the (HUGE and NEVER full) parking lot if they're going anywhere not in the Square. Main Street is a great place because you can walk from shop to shop, but now if you go to Metro you had best ONLY be going to Metro, or else they will literally run after you when you walk upstairs and threaten to tow your car....
