I have always liked the peddlers mall in Middletown. They usually always have a friendly staff and it is the only one my husband and I will go to. We travel all the way across town to go to this Peddlers Mall. They have never had a purse policy like the other ones before so I carried my purse line I always to and I had a lot of cash in my wallet in case places we were going did not take card. When we got to the store I was informed the policy had changed and I could not carry my purse any longer, I was confused but me and my husband left. We were not happy because there were no signs posted on the door and we had already looked at a booth before we were even told the policy but we left. I did not want to leave my wallet in the car with all the cash and my wallet was to big for my pockets, I would probably leave it laying someone in the store so we drove all the way to Middletown for nothing. On the way out however two older ladies were leaving the store with purses as big as mine. I asked them if they walked around the store store with their purses they said yes. I went back in the store and asked why the older ladies were allowed with their purses but I was not. Leo stated he did not see them. He did mot see these ladies come in the store or out???? Another lady was coming in with a purse that was big enough to fit something in and he stated that purse was fine and let her in. It was the size of a half a tote bag. She could definitely hide something in if she wanted. So I asked him if I looked like a thief. And he stated Yes. I have never been so devastated in my life!!! A thief!!! ME?!?! I had hundreds of dollars in my purse. We were there to buy furniture. I left without saying anything further because honestly I was speechless. I will never return and spend my money on any peddler’s mall. Was it my hair? I didn’t wash it today. Was it because I wore a sweatshirt? It had cartoon characters in it? But it is a lazy Sunday. What was it about me? Am I too young to like old furniture? I had a way to get the pieces home once I bought them. I had everything figured out. I have a whole room to fill with pieces. If you have a booth here I would reconsider. And if people are stealing that bad that woman can’t bring in purses that sounds like a bigger problem. My purse is big enough to fit a notebook in because of my job. That is why I have it. I would have even let them check my purse if they wanted too. The two older ladies that left before me had big purses like me too. Nothing was said to them. I would just like to know why I was...
Read moreWatch out for devious and lying employees behind the counter. They lack ethics entirely and are not at all above stealing directly from the customer in order to buy a valuable item themselves and sell it for a higher price. Will never walk into this place again. Upper management is missing. Website has a phone number, which is never answered. No one replied to my multiple emails and I never got anywhere in so much as getting anyone to even listen to my complaint. Amazing that people will give these places such good reviews. What good is what great items they have to sell, if the women behind the counter are lying, cheating, and stealing from you?
EDIT: Exactly as suspected, the so-called "owner" responding to my negative review is just the "Marketing Director." When I offered a detailed 6-page statement with log of calls and a timeline of events, she made it all out to be an issue of policy enforcement that, according to her, I did not understand, despite the fact that the policy stated was utterly inapplicable given the facts. This "store policy" disagreement response seems to be a standard one to negative reviews on Google and it must have some proven efficacy to offset the negative reviews with Google or readers. I still stand by the fact that the manager of this Middletown Peddlers Mall is a liar, cheat,...
Read moreI truly enjoy walking through Peddler's Mall on Shelbyville Road in Middletown, KY. Seeing items from years ago reminds me of various years and stages of my life and the experience evokes some sweet and cherished memories. I have passed by Peddlers Mall for many years never thinking about going in for fear inside would be junk; but on my first visit this summer I discovered the treasures inside are far from being classified as junk. It is now one of my favorite places to shop. I have purchased items not only for myself but for family and friends. Inside the mall you'll discover how various sellers have their items arranged in sections, referred to as booths, with prices marked on the items. Most booths do not have the sellers present, as has been my experience. You take your items and either put them in a car or take them to the front where friendly staff will check you out. If you've never been inside you might owe it to yourself to go once but make sure you walk around inside the entire facility. I bet you there is one seller's booth inside that has just what you're looking for ...and maybe just what you didn't know you were looking...
