I felt extremely uncomfortable and I was not treated as fairly as the other people I attended with. Save your money and do not go to this restaurant. The food isn't that good to sit through the blatant disrespect and judging glances.
*As a response to your "apology"...no, screw you guys, I will never go back there ever again. First off, I was never a regular so your attempt at making me think you "know me" and actually care has failed.
And "...you'll be ours again". No. Stop. That's just creepy.
You say that all of your customers are equal but that was not the case when I was there with my friends. If you're the manager that served me, which I believe you are, you pressured me into buying an entree when I was fine with only getting my appetizer and were rude enough to actually ask if I was going to "get anything else", as if my order wasn't enough. You offered "us" some free cucumber sauce but really you were only offering it to my friends. I never received eye contact from you. I decided to cave in and buy an entree from your restaurant and I felt rushed the whole time I was trying to order. When giving us our checks, you gave both my friends stamp cards for your restaurant and while explaining how they worked, you were once again ONLY talking to my friends, not to me. Which I guess I can understand, since you didn't give me one. When leaving, you failed to acknowledge both my friend who sat next to me and I. You did not say thank you or bye to us, only my friend who sat across from us. I was disrespected and I will never give my money to your restaurant ever again and I will encourage anyone I come across to never go as well.

Read moreClay Oven isn't the closest Indian restaurant to home, but it's become our favorite. Located, rather unassumedly, in a retail strip area on Shelbybille Rd in Middletown, Clay Oven is more than you expect when you walk in.
We've never had to wait to get seated at Clay Oven, even though we always visit on Friday evenings. The interior is warm and welcoming, with all of the tables set nicely with a clean, white tablecloth, red cloth napkins, and pristine water glasses. The décor is very Indian without being overdone. The background music is at a comfortably low volume and doesn't require talking over.
Clay Oven's menu is pretty sizable and quite varied. In all our visits I've only ever ordered from the Indo-Chinese Specialties section, and never been disappointed. The Paneer Chili was my favorite (who knew cheese could be so flavourful?), the Chicken Mo-Mo, and the Jungle Kebobs have been my favorite. Each dish (not all at the same time...these were different visits) served hot and fresh. There's something about the smell of Indian food that is just amazing.
Their Garlic Naan? INCREDIBLE!
The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable and the food delivery times have always been very timely.
Clay Oven is a pretty laid-back, genuine Indian restaurant that you can't...
Read moreCame to this restaurant waited to be seated for seven minutes then someone came I told him table for two also told him I’d like a booth he told me they are reserved all eight of them so I told him again for a booth then he sat us down in a booth. From the time we was there no one ever came to sit in the so called reserved booth’s we was there for 1 1/2 hours. I called the waiter said we are ready to order he came back after 10 minutes to take the order, we sat and sat eventually I called for the waiter that when is the food coming out he told me they have a lot of to go orders almost fifty minutes later our food comes out with no apology, looks like they rather take care of the outside orders than the customer that’s inside. As we were also seated the waiter never asked us how are we!! Then there was a party of four he seated next to us in a booth and asked them how are they and so on, the customer service is only there for a few people and not the rest of us. I will not be going back to this restaurant ever they need to learn what is customer service and everyone should be treated equally because end of the day it’s the customer that keeps that restaurant in business. Poor, ...
