New to the neighborhood and went for a bite to eat prior to stopping here. We figured...dessert! Before I even mention the chocolate, Roberto is an amazing man. The stories he shared with us were so interesting. Chocolate is not all he knows. Including his chef's hat, he has donned many others and it shows in his intriguing stories. (Does he have an autobiography? He should..) Now as for the sweets. As I write this, sitting in my kitchen I just looked around for something sweet to eat. Nothing here will match what we ate last night. First of all his Moussicles.......one raspberry and the other a chocolate mousse..... šÆ All I can say is mouth watering, refreshing, and so smooth! Much better than regular popsicles!!! We ate them as slow as we could to enjoy the taste. Next up...the chocolate. The man is truly a gifted artist. We have never had anything like this. We chose 3, the Duke of earl truffle (a beautiful bite) , peanut butter truffle (the best peanut butter combination I have ever had) , and Night in Tunisia chocolate. 𤯠it truly was a game of ping pong in our mouths. It was a small bite but with so much flavor!!!.....the only negative thing is that we only got one of each. 𤤠I have never had chocolate like this and the mixing of flavors was truly magical. Trying to pick a favorite but I cant. Thank YOU to Roberto, we stopped for something sweet and left much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI must take issue with the prior reviewers. This place has set itself up as a cash extraction machine with all sorts of exotic-sounding names and pricing slight-of-hand to carry out highway robbery. I was perfectly OK with paying something of a premium for high-quality chocolates but consider the tactics:
You canāt buy a pound of chocolates, you pay by the piece for which no price is posted.
You have to buy the box separately. The customer is encouraged to bring back the box for a refill. Not this customer!
The candy was uneven in quality but wasnāt worth anything like what it cost. Two pieces were stale. One contained a peanut butter filling that had only.the faintest taste of PB.
We ended up paying $75.00 for slightly less than a pound of not-all-that-special chocolates that combined pretentious nomenclature and misleading pricing practices. If you savor such experiences,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSome of the strangest chocolates that I have actually enjoyed!
All are dark.
The polka dotted one is lemon mint (this tastes like mint from a garden, not like peppermint patty mint. It was surprising but good).
The butterfly is strawberry basil (meh. Not my fav).
The almond one is marzipan (YUM).
The dragon tastes like walking into an Indian restaurant (no idea what all flavors are inside. I didnāt like but apparently itās their most award-winning one).
The lion-emblem one is tomato with a white chocolate ganache (this one was like a curiously kind-of-good one).
The blue cocoa bean one was called Masala, and it tasted like chocolate brought out more by faint hints of something that simply enhances the chocolate. I almost didnāt get this one (Iām not a fan of spiced chocolate typically), but it was by far my favorite, and, apparently, another award-winder...
