I had a very bad experience with another jeweler, with my rings. They had them for over a month and nothing had been done with them, except to destroy my engagement ring.

I came in on a Saturday without an appointment and Christine you came over and sat with my husband and I for 45 minutes. Listen to my horror story, and listen to what I wanted done with my rings. You brought over samples to make sure that I got what I wanted. The engagement ring had to be ordered, and you had to get the other to bands brought in house. You let me know when all the bands were in the store, so that I could come in and look at them before the work started to make sure it was what I wanted. I was told that it would be about 10 days to have everything set in the bands. I was so pleased to find out that it was done in 7 days.

Tom, I was told that you would have to special cut into my engagement ring to set the 2 trillions that were in my original ring. I came to pick up my rings today, and Tom, I had to have you come down and talk to me just so that I could tell you what a wonderful job on my rings. You sit above the showroom floor, I called it a pedestal, which I believe is fitting. You are definitely a master of your trade. You worked so hard and took such care with my rings and the workmanship shows.

I work near Malloves' Middletown location and was desperately in need of a competent jeweler that could resize my ring while I waited. The reason: I had lost this ring (sentimental value only; it's a class ring from eons ago) and it took years to replace. To my surprise, Christine immediately emailed me back when I completed the "contact" form on the website. She then left a phone message for a tentative appointment and I went yesterday after work.

Tom is nothing short of an artist and craftsman. I was able to watch him through his workshop window resize my ring and reapply antique finishing. SImply amazing. I could have quite literally watched him all day. He is extremely detail oriented, setting about working on my ring as if it was his own precious possession. When he was finished it looked better than when it was brand new. The repair to the size is invisible and the color of the gold matches perfectly as does the contour and texture. The antique finishing is superb and brings out the contrast in the ring. So impressive.

I would visit and recommend Malloves in a heartbeat: everyone was friendly and welcoming when I walked in the door and they extended this warmth to each person entering, as if it was their living room.

I brought my engagement ring in to have the original diamond swapped with the diamond from my fiancé’s grandmother’s ring. They told us three weeks and it was finished more than a week early! I was nervous because the band is very thin and the “new” diamond is significantly larger than the original. I am blown away by the workmanship. They made it work SO beautifully! The quality and sturdiness of the prongs makes me feel more comfortable and confident wearing it daily. As a person with limited means, I thought the price was extremely reasonable.

I didn’t get to thank the person who worked on my ring, so, THANK YOU!!! I can’t stop staring at it! We always get excellent service from Mallove’s, whether it’s a simple watch repair or something as important as an engagement ring. I look forward to returning to shop for wedding bands!

Edit to add: we ended up having the gold from my (now) husband’s grandmother’s ring made into his wedding band. They once again did an absolutely beautiful job, at a reasonable price. Service was prompt and friendly as always!
