24 Hour Fitness — Attraction in Millbrae

It’s 8:16 am Wednesday, August 1st and two other members and I had been waiting for a large towel or someone to appear at the front desk on Millbrae 24 hours fitness super sport, there were two representatives in an open office from were they can see us waiting for someone, the first one I saw was Hillary Tran, a Master Trainer who looked at us a couple of times and didn’t say or give us a signal of wanting to check on us, the second one named Marlene at the time was walking around carrying coffee, she walked by us and didn’t said a word. Realizing that, I decided to wave my hand to Hillary, then she looked at me and started walking towards us, but never to say a word or check on us, she just walked away with a face of ( I’m not me the person that should care about whatever you need right now) after that I make the same signal to Marlene then she looked at me and said I’m logging in, we wait, she came, I told her I need a towel, she said I don’t have any, probably I have to grab them at the dryer. Then she answered a call, and started checking on all the other members that by that time I had been waiting for around 6-8 minutes, which can sound like nothing but can also be the time that someone need to get to work on time after waking up earlier to workout. I’m not a person that like to take time to write a review but I consider this disrespectful because on this kind of Gym they charge us more for a towel service and a better service in general and 24 Hours Fitness will never allow me to say, wait I can’t pay my...

I visited this gym on Wednesday, August 15th. As i pulled into a parking spot right in front of entrance, i took notice of a sign that clearly says “no parking on Saturday, August 17th. Still, i took a picture of the sign just incase.

Well after my workout, i headed to the locker room to shower before starting my day. As im in the shower, i overhear a lady anounce herself and she starts telling people “there is a car parked infront and its going to get towed. There is no parking there” It was sort of hard to hear exactly what she said but once I heard ‘tow’ i freaked out. I was taken back because it was 5:45am.

So I hopped out of the shower and immediately step over to the locker room area to asked if it was a grey car, to which she gave me a look of disgust before yelling “yes your car is getting towed, the truck is on its way now!” Then she proceeds to talk in spanish to other people as if i don’t understand. Saying “these people dont know how to read. They don’t understand”

This is so unprofessional. I understand that she was the custodial for the morning. So there may be times when she needs to enter the mens locker room to do her job, which is to mainly clean the restroom and the vanity area. That’s pretty much it. But she was well into the locker room. And then to look at me with such disgust. I was mortified.

Horrible service and experience coming here! Absolutely would not recommend coming here. I'm looking to relocate part time to the area and wanted to try out different gyms as that is a crucial part of picking a home.

I signed up for the 3 day pass via the website, specific to this location. The sales and service manager even emailed me offering to sign me up for $25/month. As soon as I came to the gym, I was greeted by a lady with HORRIBLE attitude. I let her know I had received a three day trial and she immediately shot it down, saying they don't do that here, and I can come for $25/day. I would also need a California license (even though I don't live there yet). She said the website is not valid because it's a "nation wide" website and not specific to the location. When I brought up that it specifically said the Millbrae location, she said I can do the $25/day pass with a CA state license or not at all. Overall it was extremely dismissive and as my first impression of 24hr fitness, I would definitely not return.

To this location, get it together. If you're not going to abide by your website's promotions, take your location off. It honestly felt like they did not want to work and made up random rules so we would leave. Please avoid this gym at all costs. I also saw another Yelp review where someone got the cops called on them because of a similar situation - seems like it was the same lady that served them. 10000% avoid.
