We go to the real LEGOLAND in San Diego. So I am slightly comparing it to that. The price for this place is bonkers. There is one ride an it’s about 2 mins long. There is a play place an you need to buy their socks. The price to enter is again crazy. You can just buy your kids Lego sets for the amount they charge you here. One star for the staff being amazing! I would also recommend buying tickets online before you plan to go. I’ll give another star for crowd control as they don’t allow to many people in past a certain point. The build stations needs an employee there to help regulate turn taking because parents are not doing it. Each station lacked the right legos to even play. As in the cool train area with tracks didn’t have a single train part/ pieces to built a train an even use the tracks. The build bin areas are so small it really only allows for one kid at a time. We were constantly bombarded with kids grabbing what our kid was making (while he’s right there) or shoving to get in front of him. While not a single parent was around. Or you have kids hogging all the legos not allowing others to play with them. Their bday section seemed really neat an for winter/ cold months bdays this is probably really cool. Thankfully I found discount tickets because I would have been furious to pay that much for literally nothing. They did have a Starbucks and a rather large bathroom for now small this place was. I think they need a few more staff to help in the build area. Lower the prices for entry (some things inside cost additional if you don’t pay for it before hand too). I think a weekday would be better as in I assume less of a crowd. Also the store itself as you exit. Everything was marked up. Which was odd cause I was able to find the items either cheaper on the actual LEGO site or cheaper on Amazon. This is definitely a one an done type place or maybe skip the cost. Save up an go to the actual LEGOLAND in SD. This place would gather more stars but the price for what is given is why...
Read moreThis was the first time my son and I visited here, and while we had fun, it was a little disappointing. There are sections for building and creating with Legos that are great, and the train ride with the interactive wand was fun. There's a room in the middle with huge Lego builds to view, which are incredible. We found a few things were not working, which sort of ruined the magic of it all. In the large build room, there was a football stadium with buttons to turn on and then up and down arrows to "move". But nothing happened when we hit the "start" button, nor when my son tried pressing the up and down arrows. There was also a duplo structure with buttons on each side, but nothing happened when we hit those bottoms either- not even sure what they were supposed to do. And there was a ninja obstacle room. Instructions outside said to enter, hit start, then try to hit the targets and avoid the lasers, then hit stop and check your score. First, we couldn't even see the start button when we entered the dark room, so I used my cell phone flashlight to find it. Then, once we hit start, nothing was happening. We touched a few of what we assumed were "targets" and only when we hit one, did one line of light go across the room. When we finished, we couldn't find where we looked for scores. The 4D "movie" was fun, but a bit too much mist sprayed out, so my hair was damp and my son's sweatshirt was damp when we left. But it was a fun show. Overall it was fun, but I would say it's better suited for younger children (4-6) and they need to fix the broken items.
Also, we arrived a couple minutes before they opened on a Sunday, and if we'd come any other time, I'd recommend purchasing tickets online ahead of time. There are two ticket stations, but it takes a few minutes to purchase, so if there's a line, it...
Read moreNewly opened in Great Mall of Milpitas this Summer 2021. This is at Entrance 4 of the mall just adjacent to the food court where the previous Sears store used to be. You now know why they chose this location. Great attraction near food court to tempt kids and families to stop by. This place has the Legoland Toy store which is open to all. But if you want to experience the games, rides, etc you have to buy tickets for them. (by appointment only at this time thru their website). Check-in wasn't a breeze for us even though we had tickets in mobile and stopped by at appointment time. There were 3 people at counter yet they seem to be confused and the line wasn't moving at all. Once you enter, you will find building blocks that you can start playing with, scattered throughout the premises. There are different experiences. My kids liked the 4D short movie. The museum of Bay Area exhibits isn't that good. None of the jockeys were working, lights were off, so it was disappointing. This museum sits like a blob in the middle occupying much of the space. I would like this to be replaced to some fun activity, a ride or something interactive. The pirate playground is great where kids can climb up, down and slide by going through different challenging paths. The Lego train ride is awesome where you can use the lasers to interactively ride. Overall, good to visit first time as being more unique to Bay Area and South Bay. I would rethink for going here multiple times (unless experiences are changed) since this being in the mall that people are...
