Pamper Nail & Spa — Attraction in Minneapolis

Very convenient location but unfortunately I won’t be going here anymore. I’ve had two bad experiences with two separate nail techs. Staff are friendly, but seem to not know how to schedule appointments while also taking in walk-ins. I’ve called for appointments and each time they seem surprised when I come in at the appointment time as though whoever took down my appointment didn’t actually make note of it, or that they forgot and everyone is now working on customers so no one is free to take my appointment. This issue isn’t too major to me, just a bit frustrating if in a time crunch. The most egregious issue I have with this salon is that my nail tech peeled off my gel polish (with clippers), rather than filing it down. Peeling or cutting off polish like this takes off layers of the nail and weakens your nails immensely! This is a major no-no!! The damage can last for months, or years, depending on your nail strength, especially if done repeatedly! Another nail tech filed my gels with an e-file, which is ok if the tech is very careful and doesn’t go too close to the natural nail. Unfortunately it began to burn, this can also cause a lot of damage, similar to the peeling/ripping off of polish. If you’re going in for a simple manicure or pedicure (no gel or acrylic, only regular nail polish) I’m sure this would be a fine nail salon for you. I was able to get right in for a basic mani/pedi today but honestly wish I had the time to go to the place I typically go. One woman started on my nails and another finished. The second woman was rushed and somewhat rude. I initially wanted regular polish but she talked me into gel for a mani, but seemed way overly eager to upsell me on the gel. Twice I told her I’d stick to the regular polish because we weren’t finding a color to match my toes, she told me she could blend a couple colors to get the color close to the color of my toes. I allowed it and although it doesn’t matter at the end of the day the colors are noticeably different. The woman also asked me multiple times if I had anything other than a card to pay with. I said that no, I didn’t - which was the truth. And when it came to tipping she asked if I had Venmo. I just felt it was really unprofessional, if cards aren’t ideal they probably shouldn’t allow them at all. Lastly, while she was finishing my manicure I noticed my ankle was super itchy and burned a little, I looked down and had a slight rash from whatever lotion they used after my pedi. I’m not sure if I’ll try to visit here again, I feel like a mani/pedi should be relaxing and this...

Do not go here!! They do absolutely nothing to sanitize nail tools or stations between customers. I watched the woman “clean” the tools she used on me with the water I had soaked my hands in and put them back in her box. I saw this as my nails were drying. If I had seen it sooner, I would have walked out. This was especially concerning because the woman cut me during my service and knowing the tools aren’t sanitized I’m disgusted. Additionally, the towels had not been changed between customers. Also, like others have said, I made an appointment for 2 and still ended up waiting 15 minutes only to have one employee for two of us and she continually left to help other customers throughout.
