Ridgeline has a good thing going here. Bottom line - the communication is excellent, they listen to the homeowner, the office folks are great, and the craftsmanship is top notch. This place is legit.
Max came out in March to give multiple quotes to replace a worn out wood fence. He listened to what I wanted which honestly is not a very straightforward job and which has a lot to consider. He then put four different quotes together, and did them correctly the first time - so often I have to go back and forth with contractors to revise quotes over and over to get them to understand what I want. Not so here, the quotes were pretty much bang on which made it super easy to pull the trigger on a new vinyl fence. Handled all my questions for weeks before signing the contract, and there were a lot. Also - Max has a lot of Youtube videos on their site showing various things - watch them! You'll know exactly what you're getting if you do.
We ended up taking a bit of a chance on the "Green Teak" color, which isn't popular due to the green in the name. All I really had to go on was a small sample and maybe a couple photos from Homeland's website which weren't very good. Hopefully my photos will help someone else who isn't yet sure - the color is super nice and there's no green in it at all to my eye, my wife said it's more like an ash brown. Max put in the special order in early April when I signed the contract, and it took a bit over 3 months to arrive, but then got scheduled within about a week of it arriving. Jill also came out to do another walk through and just reconfirm the scope and see if I had any other questions that had come up shortly before the material arrived, which was really nice of her to do.
My fence job isn't simple. Grade changes, height changes, a double gate, a single gate, weird angles combined with steep grade changes, a post in my patio right next to my house, fence running right next to my patio, through the grass next to sprinklers, along mulch, along pea gravel, and through landscaping rock atop and less than 2 feet inset from a sketchy dry stacked retaining wall. The proximity to the retaining wall was also a major deciding factor in seeking out a driven post fence install. I'm very glad I went with driven steel posts - truly no mess, no concrete to go bad, and they are deep and they are solid. 2 day total install for 300ish feet with all the weird things to deal with.
Max and crew came out and really crushed it. I'm pretty particular about how I want things done and after ten years here, I've also learned I just need to speak up if I don't like something or want something done a specific way, or want something refined a little bit. There were just a couple super minor things I noticed after day 1, Max and crew were totally cool listening to me explain and taking care of the issues without complaining, which is huge in my book - I always felt I could approach and just ask for what I wanted and know I would ultimately get it. Just a few extra minutes doing abc or xyz might be annoying for the guys in the moment but in the end, a few of those small refinements change a job from feeling just ok to feeling stellar. This job feels stellar and I have no lingering things in the back of my mind. Max listens - that matters. You will go very far and be very successful doing business like this - keep it up, this is the right way to run a customer-facing company.
In the end, they left me with a flawless, stellar installation on a complex job that 100% satisfies me, and I'm very picky. Everything I threw at them, they handled with ease. Most people won't really think how much thought has to go into a job like mine ("it's just a fence!"), but there is a lot to consider and they got it all correct which speaks to their level of skill. I'm also confident they will stand behind their workmanship and product 100% if there are any teething issues over the first couple freeze/thaw cycles. Ultimately, I made the 100% right choice going with Ridgeline, and you will too. ...
Read moreAfter our neighbor’s dog jumped over the fence and attacked our dog, we knew that we needed to upgrade our fence. The 3.5 foot chain link fence from the 50’s wasn’t keeping us safe anymore.
So, I started doing fence research. I learned the pros and cons of different fence materials, read hundreds of google reviews (check out the negative review replies for Dan’s Fence for a laugh), and scheduled estimates with 3 companies. When Max came to do the estimate, it was easy to see why Ridgeline is rated so highly. He was super friendly, courteous, and professional, offering his expertise on gate location and solutions for the fence along the driveway to allow for snow removal.
We ultimately chose Ridgeline because they use galvanized steel posts set in concrete, don’t subcontract and would finish the fence in 2 days (not 1-2 weeks like other companies). Additionally, Max said they would remove the hard set posts in our driveway (from the wood fence that the previous owners installed), whereas the other companies said they would simply cut the old wood posts off at the driveway level and install the new posts in different locations. That would have been an ugly solution.
Over the next couple of months I had many questions, and Max always responded promptly. When the pallet of pickets that was delivered had mostly cracked pickets, Max simply had another pallet delivered prior to installation. When I showed him the results of the survey that changed our property boundaries, he explained how they would keep everyone’s yards fenced.
As promised, demolition and installation began at the end of July. Initially I was worried when I was told the crew would be starting on a Friday, because if they didn’t fence the back of our yard, our neighbor’s dangerous dog wouldn’t be contained over the weekend. But once Anthony and the crew got to work, they worked incredibly fast and finished more than just the back section by the end of the day. It was impressive how quickly and meticulously they worked. They finished the fence on Monday, and I did a final walk through with Anthony before they left.
The next day, I inspected the fence closer and noticed that a rail and several pickets had sizable cracks. I asked Max about them, and he said they would replace the rail and pickets in the next few days. As promised, Anthony happily replaced the rail and pickets and told me to contact him if any other problems arose. A month and a half later, Anthony again happily replaced another two rails that were not in good shape. They really stand behind the product and their work.
We couldn’t be happier with our beautiful cedar fence, and I am confident we chose the best company for the job. Although our dog who we had it installed for suddenly died, our new dog is able to safely play in our yard because of the fence. Thank...

I hired RidgeLine Fence and Deck to replace about 70 feet of fence and a double-door gate over 50 inches wide. I did this because my fence was starting to tip into my neighbor's yard due to a bad install by another provider.
They did an incredible job, and the professionalism was outstanding. Great online calculator!! I first met with Jill, I believe one of the owners, and she gave me a very informative and fair estimate. I received about three bids in all. All were similar in price, and all were a little under $8000 but not everyone used steel posts.
She explained things clearly and showed me exactly what I was buying from the RidgeLine catalog and the pictures she sent me. She explained the installation process and why they like to install steel posts. Jill was with me throughout the entire process through text, phone, and email. She was always available for one of my many questions. I give her five stars on her own for always answering or replying.
They installed it in one day and did a fantastic job and caused practically zero damage to my lawn or my neighbor's newly sodded lawn. Max was the main guy, and he made the installation look easy. The fence seems exceptionally sturdy, and the gate and fence are fantastic. I’m glad I didn’t go with a Lattice, but that’s just my opinion. I went with all craftsmen, but RidgeLine offers many designs, or they also do custom jobs if you have an idea.
A few things I learned that I think are essential for people to know is that they put their posts into the ground 5 feet deep, and they can take winds up to 75 miles an hour. No cement is used on galvanized steel posts. It also is not a very loud process.
I now have a beautiful 6-foot wood fence with 11-foot galvanized steel posts driven 5 feet in the ground instead of wood posts that could rot at any time or be blown over. Posts have fittings, I'm told, but no concrete is used unless it is the gate or a wood post. RidgeLine steel post has a lifetime warranty, and, the fence has a three-year contract for the build job. That basically means that if they screwed up building it, they will fix it, but they cover the posts for life. Also, you do not see any steel in the fence unless you look very closely.
I will spray-stain my fence with a Behr Solid Color Oil Stain. RidgeLine recommends this, but not necessary.
I hope this was informative and not a waste of your time again. I highly recommend this company for its professionalism, timing, price, and build quality. I plan on hiring them todo the rest of my fence when...
