I went in yesterday to upgrade two phones at two separate times. The first sales associate I received was named Andrew and was everything you would expect from a sales associate. He was extremely polite, patient, helpful, and was not overbearing. He helped out exactly how we needed and was able to look into the availability for the second phone we were going to purchase. We left and came back and asked for Andrew and he had left because his shift was over. We were then met with Phillip, the biggest jack a$$ you will ever meet. I have never been more frustrated or offended by sales associate in my life. I was trying to help my mother upgrade her phone and it was almost like it was his mission to persuade us to not buy every phone we looked at. We were looking at 3 different phones and each one he gave us the cons on all of them and never any of the pros. He belittled us for wanting to upgrade our phone now before the verizon pricing plan comes out this week. When she eventually picked a phone, he basically tore her down for choosing the phone and she was almost in tears. We spent half an hour deciding on which phone and then he made her second guess wanting to get that one and I had to convince her to go with it still (I do know phones and electronics extremely well). Then during the whole process of actually activating the service it was the Phillip Comedy hour where he was a sarcastic idiot with every question I asked. Andrew opened up the first phone, got it all completely setup and made sure it was functioning. Phillip checked us out and did not even open the box for the phone. It was still sealed when we left. Who knows if the phone even worked or was functioning (it was and it works great). This guy should be fired immediately. i can tell everyone else that works with him was just as annoyed. He's more worried about showing off all his knowledge from Apple forums than actually doing his job of sales which is to help a customer find the best option and make them feel like they are making the right decision. I was going to give this 3 stars because Andrew was great, but Phillip outweighs all the good that was done. Train your staff on how to be sales associates. Will probably never go back...
Read moreI have a Best Buy Total Membership and needed my screen protector replaced. I went with my mom to Best Buy (on Grape Rd in Mishawaka, IN). I had not made an appointment with the geek squad and there were 3 people in line ahead of us. I tried to make an appointment from my phone while waiting but I kept getting an error message. We continued to wait. It took about 35 minutes and when we got to the counter we were told we had to go to the phone section first so that an associate could get us the correct screen protector and then come back to have it installed. So we went over to the counter and waited about 5 minutes. No one was around so I went and asked the person at the door if we could get some help. He said yes. We waited another 10 minutes and an employee with a black shirt (Ryan) walked by and I asked if we could get some help getting a screen protector and he said, "You're supposed to go to the geek squad counter first." To which I told him we spent over 30 minutes waiting in line there and we were told to come to this counter. He (very exasperated) said well I will have to see if I can find someone becuase there were only 2 people working the floor and he walked away. We waited another 15 minutes and another employee came strolling up to the counter. His speech was slurred and he wasnt very focused. We said we needed a new screen protector and said we had the plan to replace them. I gave him my number he asked what kind of phone and I told him it was a Samsung Galaxy and he said he needed to know more info. I said we bought them here can you see what kind it is from the screen? He went and got a protector and then said he couldn't find my information so we gave him my mom's phone number and he found it and then had to go look again for the screen protector. While he was doing this he was helping other customers. We finally got the screen protector and then had to go over the the Geek Squad again and wait. We waited about 10 minutes and it was a different guy and he said you should have come to this counter first. To which I told him we did and we were told to go to the phone area. He was able to change my screen protector. So what could have taken 15 minutes took over an hour. Just what are we paying...
Read moreI have been here 3 times which I have listed below from most recent to earliest. Poor customer service has turned me away from ever wanting to go here again. I have a gift card from that first experience that I still have not used that I'll just use to shop online with now. The most recent experience was insulting.
Wanted to upgrade my car audio from the stock system. Asked questions about two different head units. The person who was "helping" me laughed sarcastically at my questions.: "Haha. Every one of them has Bluetooth." I was questioning what would make me pay $160 or $60 for two different systems and she gave no direction. I then told her that I would look them up on my phone and find reviews. She disappeared and no one was able to help me for another 15 minutes. I went to the PC section, they called her, and told me she would be a bit. The three people standing there helping no one acted frustrated, sent one person to try to help, she then said that I would have to pay for everything before scheduling an installation and I told her I wanted to know how soon so I could plan for it. She snapped back, "we are not going to schedule anything until you pay." They wanted me to pay $450 for the boxes of stuff and then possibly have to wait 2 weeks to have them installed. I went to a smaller company that was respectful and acted like they wanted my business, paid the same amount for everything, and they installed it the same day while I waited.
Tried to buy headphones and found the ones I wanted. They had a display model. Unfortunately they did not have any in stock and tried to upsell me to a more expensive type by saying, "oh I just checked. We don't have those. We do have these ones though." Same type. $40 more expensive. The whole interaction felt shady.
My first trip: returning a vacuum that my father got me for Christmas because I did not need it. I already had a great vacuum. As I tried to return it the guy tried to talk me out of returning it repeatedly. I was annoyed by his persistence in telling me how great the vacuum was and how good of a deal my dad got on it. Now I have...
