Ulta Beauty — Attraction in Monroeville

I would like to start by saying I received AMAZING service from Bree in helping pick out new products for my make up and beauty routine. If this review was just about her I would give her 5 stars. She was patient and gave great recommendations based on my needs and my budget, was very knowledgeable about make up and did a great job matching me with a new foundation shade.

My lack of stars comes from my check out experience, during my check out with Tyonna I felt rushed and like I was an inconvenience to her. While checking out I asked her if I could redeem my birthday freebies, she asked me for a barcode. I have never needed one before but as I tried to login my email wasn’t working and I didn’t know the password. I mostly use my phone number at check out and use my points, so I haven’t logged into my account in a long time. After I asked if there was any way she could help me without the barcode she took my id and gave me the birthday freebie. Didn’t even ask if I wanted to use my points or anything. As I was walking out I heard her say she was finally done, I thought maybe it was 30 minutes past 7 and I had really inconvenienced her, but as I checked my watch I realized it was 7:03pm. Overall I felt she was rude and short, and did not give even a basic positive shopping experience. To be quite frank if it wasn’t for the fact Bree did such a good job at helping me pick these products I would’ve walked out of the store and not purchased anything. Shelly in Monroeville has been doing my hair for over a year now and is amazing. I came in as a brunette for the first time and made my brunette so beautiful. I decided to go blonde after that because of my grays. She slowly and properly got me to the beautiful, platinum blonde I wanted. She has maintained it and added fun glam colors that I have wanted. She really listens to what YOU want to do with your hair and gives recommendations. But, ultimately, you get what you want. She is very prideful in her work and honestly cares what you look like and what happens. She is not happy until you are happy. She is knowledgeable about color, cuts and styles and her education shows in the end. Her clientel is her main priority and will always call you to make sure you tremendously your appointment. I love that I have curly hair but the frizz is pretty ridiculous these days. It’s a curse and a blessing. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I do not have time nor do I want to straighten it every day or buy a ton of different products trying to manage it. Shelly (read some other reviews, and you’ll see why I go to her) recommended a keratin treatment and I loved it. Under NO circumstances did I want formaldehyde in my hair and her formula is formaldehyde free and does not damage my curl pattern. It took about three hours but the results are worth it. It’s been two weeks, I’m writing this review sitting on the beach, admiring my frizz-free beach waves.
