After my lease was up I decided to try Sierra Madre Honda yet again and was not disappointed. I didn’t know what I wanted but I decided to go with the prologue, my first EV car. Thank you for all the patience and knowledge, Chris was a huge help. Even though it was super busy the entire process was easy yet again. Thank you for you excellent service!!!! Just purchased my new passport and traded in my old car all on my own today. With that being said, I had such an amazing, worry free, and outstanding experience. Looking for a reliable car is sometimes hard to find and having to search and go at it alone can also be very intimidating. So with that being said, I've avoided buying a new car for a long time. But so glad I was proven wrong today. I decided to go to Sierra Honda and happy that I did. Right away I felt very comfortable. Their facility was super clean and I was greeted by every friendly employee. Shout out to Saatara for helping me out. He was very patient, super knowledgeable, explaining everything in detail. When it was a done deal the entire paperwork process was so quick and easy I couldn't believe how fast it was. They had high tech devices to do the paperwork on which was cool to see and made the process go a lot smoothly and easy to understand. Another shout out to the dealer and the finance manager Fawzi for all their help. In the end I wish had gone sooner. If you're looking for an easy, worry free great customer service experience? Well go no further because Sierra Honda will not disappoint. I'm now a loyal Honda customer for life! I love my car btw. Thank you again Sierra Honda team.

However, I was lucky to have spoken to and met Thomas (Tom) Redd at Sierra Honda of Monrovia because he made my experience extremely easy and pain free while also finding me a price that blew the competition's offers away (by a long shot at that). He was very professional, a straight shooter, and super helpful. Tom already knew what I went through and was very enthusiastic about making sure I got the best deal. We skipped the classic back and forth/let me ask my supervisor and got straight into the meat of it. I'm happy with my new Ridgeline and can sleep soundly knowing that I got the best deal for it! The new fellow (I forgot his name) who just started about 3 months before was also helpful in getting the information needed to make the purchase and was nice to talk to. The financing process was really easy too, since I was already pre-approved so shout out to Winston Wei as well--he got us out quick and was fun to chat with. This just goes to show that everyone’s really helpful throughout the whole process!

The real reason why I have been so loyal to Sierra is because of my service writer Kevin Eng. He is a rare breed as he is former mechanic, so he knows his car stuff inside and out. Kevin always takes care of me, and never tries to upsell me. As such, the bulk of my visits have been simple oil changes and a tire rotation - nothing exorbitant. It's so reassuring to not have to worry about tricks or gimmicks from my man Kevin! And if Kevin ever quits, I will hunt him down! lol I also want to give a big thank you to the Sierra management staff for earning my future business - Preston Han the owner and John Howard the service manager. I've always been a Honda/Acura owner, and will always be as long as Sierra is around.

This review of Sierra Honda of Monrovia is long overdue: I am still daily driving my 2003 Honda Element EX with over 250K miles! I purchased it brand spanking new from Sierra Honda in Monrovia when it was just released to market. Ever since, I've been religiously taking it to Sierra exclusively for service. I’ll never give Sierra Honda my business again. It was naive of me to believe they cared more about keeping my car reliable than padding their bottom line. I certainly wouldn’t trust them with any 40, 50, or 100-point “safety inspection” after my recent experience.

I’ve taken my Honda Pilot Elite there several times for major repairs. The service was usually fine, and they offered loaners or rentals, though not for free — they’d apply a “discount” (essentially $120, but rental is $40/day). If your car was done same-day, you’d get a small discount. It comes in handy for big repairs. I had them replace my struts on a visit. Then replaced the Camera enclosure and its sensors on another visit. Both big ticket repairs. Although, literally a block from dealership after camera/sensors replacement, my Check Engine light came back on.

So I didn't bring it back immediately and waited until my next oil service. So when I brought it for service and the "light", they told me I needed an expensive gasket replaced to stop a transmission fluid leak. Then to address the Check Engine light, it was due to bad catalytic converters. they told me it should be covered by warranty, but after their pre-warranty claim inspection, they found metal shavings inside them, so Honda likely wouldn’t honor the claim. "Sorry about that", so if I want them replaced it would be over $4,000 to fix it, offering vague explanation under the guise of “helping” and working with the price. I declined and asked how metal shavings could even get in there, if not by something that should still allow it to be covered by warranty. After all, they were the only ones servicing my car for a few big repairs AND doing all their so-called “safety inspections.” In the end, all they did was the gasket replacement and an alignment, which I paid over $2,000 for.

The answer to the "metal shavings"? I never got one. They promised a call from the Shop Supervisor — never happened. I followed up a week later, he was on vacation. Another week later, he still couldn’t speak to me.

Two months later, I got a nail in my tire. When I took it to the tire shop for a patch, they refused — uneven tread wear, against their policy. But I’d just gotten a full alignment from Sierra Honda, and their own safety inspection said my tread was fine. When I asked them to re-check the alignment, they said it was “within spec,” and blamed the uneven wear on their tech not noticing during the last visit's inspection — then tried to sell me new tires.

Their whole process is built around these inspections to “keep you safe” and upsell services, but clearly, I can’t trust them to find obvious problems, let alone make real repairs.

As for the catalytic converters, two months later, I still hadn’t spoken to the supervisor. My advisor finally told me over the phone that the metal shavings probably came from a major repair done over two years ago — but Sierra Honda was the only service department to touch my car since then, and never once mentioned the issue until the Check Engine Light came on after their own camera replacement.

Bottom line: I don’t trust them, I won’t be back, and I’ll make sure others know to steer clear of Sierra Honda. They clearly saw me as a blank check, not a loyal customer worth keeping. They will only call you and be attentive when they know it's just to...

I bought a used car from Sierra Honda. The experience with sales associate Christopher Gonzales was effortless and friendly. Perhaps my best purchasing experience from a car dealer!

Some details from my experience: I live almost 100 miles from the dealership, but I saw online that they had a used car that filled all of my family's wants at a reasonable price. I was worried that by the time I could arrange to see the car, some other buyer would snag it up. I called and was blessed to connect with Chris. He sympathized with my needs. He sent me a personalized video of the car so that I could show my wife before heading to the dealership. He then offered us the option to hold the car by charging $500 to my credit card, refundable if I chose not to purchase.

As he promised, when we arrived at the dealer the following day, the car was held in a separate lot so that it was not shown to other potential buyers. The car was in the exact shape that was listed online. The dealership made sure to complete a comprehensive maintenance service on the car and it was immaculately cleaned. Chris guided me and my wife on a great drive testing route, affording us the opportunity to confirm healthy performance and get any other car questions answered. We moved forward with the purchase.

We had a no-nonsense sales negotiation with Chris. The price listed online was the exact sale price we got; no add-ons and no discounts. I was told that this is to be expected with any used car purchase from Sierra Honda. I liked this because it saved us time, and I already knew what to expect.

The wait time during the transition from sales to financing (over 20 minutes) was the only friction in our experience. This felt longer since we brought our two toddlers, but the associates on the sales floor made efforts to make sure they were sufficiently entertained, lending us foam balls and even their offices. My boys were greeted by nothing but smiles.

Financing was straightforward as well. We wanted to make a full cash offer despite our funds being located in multiple accounts. The finance rep made suggestions to help us make the simplest payment solution, and made sure to let us know about the credit card transaction fee that we would likely want to avoid. We appreciated the transparent guidance.

I drove the car home that day. I have since driven it almost 2000 miles with no issues.
