This Stop and Shop is one of my favorite super markets. It is an immaculate store. It's a large store so just about any you may want is available all sizes and companies. The butcher dept. has mouth watering meats and the produce department has veggies that look like they were just picked from the fiields. If this isnt enough they have an ATM and an instore branch of PNC bank to suit any banking needs and I'm done not done yet. Need a little pick me up , visit their Starbucks. If you supply your email address with your rewards card about every 6 mouths you will be given a strings attached coupon for a free priduct. On a side note , I love the fact that they a full compliment of human cashiers so you don't need to used a self checkout machine Unless if you want to. The Apply department is happy to fill your order while you do your shopping.Okay 2 more things and I'll stop , there is 2 sets of entrances and exits so matter where you park it's a short walk to the store. This last one is wilded ' they have a life size computerized robot to clean up those accidental spills. Shhh on this last part , I brought in a bottle of soda and "accidently" spilled a little on the floor. I walked over and pointed out the spill. I swear he/she acuately understood me or is controlled remotely because the robot did a 180° and cleaned the mess ..... Please don't try this , I was probably lucky and won't try it again. I'd hate to explain to the security dept. , the police or maybe even a Judge why I...
Read moreI know a lot of Stop and Shops are having trouble being profitable, and I can't understand why. Pretty much a huge selection of vegan-friendly (that's what I pay attention to so that's what I notice most), great selection of quality coffees, bright and wide-open aisles (the one in West Caldwell is almost too massive), really wonderful fresh produce (helps if it's in season), and even a free magazine, Savory, that I really like. I read it for ideas. Stop and Shop is like ShopRite crossed with Whole Foods. There's a massive "Organic Food" aisle with all the overpriced Fair Trade organic this-and-that you could possibly want (and I often do). There's even a Local Foods shelf. That's where I discovered Rao's tomato sauces, a love affair that continues to this day. If I could improve anything, it would be to have hipper music. Tina Turner is fine, but it's not fresh. It's, well, it's depressing. Also, pay your employees more. They're bored to tears at 7:40 on a frigid February night when no one uses checkout lanes anymore. Folks are very nice though. Hope this store stays open, as well as the Randolph and South Orange ones (I...
Read morePurchased a GO2Bank refillable debt card added $25. Got home and tried to activate the card and turns out it was expired. Went back to the customer service w/the Stop N Shop gift card receipt and was told too bad call the company. Funny the company won't even pass you through to a representative or allow you to pass the activation screen on their website since in order to chat w/a customer service representative since the card is expired. From the packaging on the card there is no way to tell this card is expired until its opened. And according to Stop N Shop that's their policy. Once u open the card "You don't get a refund". This is literally fraud. It's 8/29 and the card expired in July. I told the associate you still have cards up there and was told the companies stock the cards themselves and they have no way of knowing their expired. No accountability whatsoever and no attempt to rectify the issue. Will never purchase any gift cards at this or any Stop N Shop ever again. So relieved I didn't add more money to this fraudulent...
