I must admit I’m a foodie and love all kinds of specialty markets. I was pleasantly surprised by Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace in Morris Plains. This place has everything Italian your heart desires and more. They have an amazing long display of homemade prepared foods. It’s the biggest one I’ve ever seen for an Italian market in NJ. You can find chicken cutlets, broccoli rabe, arancini, carbonara cappellini, potato and cheese croquettes, cakes, fruiti de mare salad, several types of seafood salads, crab cakes, eggplant parm, sicilian eggplant, jumbo fried shrimp, specialty burgers and sliders, several types of prepared salmon, grilled and roasted vegetables, an antipasto bar, an entire cheese department with imported and homemade cheeses, such as homemade mozzarella, bocconcini, basket cheese aka”formaggio da pasta filata" ( yes and not just at the holidays) and homemade ricotta. They have tons and tons of all different types of olives. Uncle Giuseppe’s sells Italian and imported specialty products. They have a fresh meat department, a fresh fish department, a full deli, fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh pastas, a variety of homemade ravioli’s, a coffee bar with assorted expresso beans, and other flavored beans you can grind. A variety of Imported canned tomatoes and products from Italy. Homemade peanut butter you grind on the spot fresh with no additives. They have a nice selection of imported olive oils and vinegars. There’s a hot takeout bar with meatballs, different kinds of pasta, chicken and vegetables. They even have a section where they make a variety of homemade pizzas. For dessert they have a bakery department that sells all types of Italian cookies, cakes, breads, pastries you name it they have it. As I walked around there were employees giving out samples of a variety of foods. Everything I tried was wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. This store has everything neatly displayed and very clean. I spent 2 hours here. I bought their brand of homemade imported extra virgin olive oil, antipasto, cheese & spinach ravioli’s,bread, dried farro, vegetables, and cheeses. This store is a bit pricey but the quality and variety are simply amazing! There is a large free parking lot. You can grab a shopping cart, and near the entrance there are a few handicapped spots. I will definitely be back it’s worth the trip. We...

The main entrance takes us into prepared foods, deli, and cheese in the back, with produce up next. Read moreIf you love Italian food and who doesn't - bring your checkbook and visit this sprawling specialty marketplace. It was my first time with my wife as a layout guide - she's already been a few times and accurately predicted my reaction: Flabbergasted. I'll put it this way: On a busy but not jam-packed beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon, they actually had a person singing/DJ'ing the classics (Sinatra, Martin, etc) broadcasted throughout the entire store's PA system - at a good volume. They weren't shy about this enhancement and it made me wonder if they do it all the time. Was this another lucid dream? I felt like having a bottle of Super Tuscan while strolling my cart around and leering at all the delciousness on display. If you are a foodie, the experience is overwhelming and incredible. I love charcuterie and they have 4 different types of Proscuitto - I got the San Danielle. Also got a LB of their house Roast Beef ($16.99) which was rosy red in the center and trilling my name. They also have Kobe RB for $19.99/LB. I'll get that one next time, I was desperately trying to stay on budget but I blew like $180 and all I went for was a Panella (The Arthur Ave one). The cheese selection is mind-blowing with ample samples to toothpick, the gorgeous steaks pained to admire, the prepared food all checks-out super fresh. At each turn, I couldn't decide on things. I got some fist-sized meatballs bathed in Ferrari-red marinara, freshly-prepared kielbasa, a generously-portioned chicken parm platter for two or three or just me ($19.99). You can get frozen King Crab legs here for $50 a pound, the size of your forearm. I wanted one of those so badly but I'm not sure exactly how to prepare it. I'll watch a video soon and figure it out. I didn't dare to look at the fresh fish. I think there's a gelato parlor above this place, but I already spent so much, I needed to save some for gas. My advice: Rush here. I can not wait to hear the singer again. I hope heaven is something...
