I wish I could give 0 stars... My laptop was randomly shutting down and occasionally not turning on, so I brought it here to be repaired. After a quick inspection, they said the motherboard needed to be repaired. The cost was $350 with a $100 deposit and the rest due at completion, and they said it would take a week to repair, so I paid the deposit and left the laptop. A week later, they said that the chips they needed to repair it hadn't arrived, but it'd be done in 3 days. Another week later, I called to follow up, and they said it was ready to go. I went in to pick it up, but when they brought it out, it wouldn't turn on. They said they would keep testing and get back to me. Another 3 days later, they call and say that the motherboard needs to be replaced and it would cost $700. I declined to proceed with the service and went to pickup my computer. They said the CPU was overheating and there was nothing they could do to repair it. When I brought the computer home, it didn't turn on at all or show that it was charging when plugged in, so I opened it up. I found the charger input, the battery, and something else were all unplugged inside the computer. This means they either tested it and said it wouldn't work before they put it back together properly, or they purposefully took it apart before returning it to me so it still wouldn't work in order to convince me to spend more money. There's no way they could know it was overheating without reassembling the computer, or they did it maliciously. Now, I just have a brick and I'm out the deposit, but I'm pretty confident they were just trying to rip me off. Whatever the reason the computer wasn't put back together, they should be ashamed of the way they do business. Please do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. They will waste your time and money.

My Apple iMac computer recently crashed and was unable to boot. I brought it to LaptopMD and they helped me through the whole process so I could save all of my applications and files and transfer them onto a new refurbished computer that I found and bought to replace it. Mike helped me through numerous phone calls on what the best plan of action would be and to make sure that my new refurbished iMac would be compatible. LaptopMD transferred all of my files and applications onto my new computer and it works exactly the same as my old (now crashed computer). This was extremely important to me as I run higher end music programs and applications (some of which are difficult to reinstall because of software updates and different operating systems through the years). I was shocked that I didn’t have to reinstall any programs or applications myself. When I brought the computer back home it was literally like it was before. Even the inspirational quote on my desktop wallpaper was there! I highly recommend. Thanks Mike and the LaptopMD team!

I had both a MacBook Pro laptop 2015 with a cracked screen and a 2013 27" iMac with a bad hard drive. I took them both to the genius bar at the Apple store and was told - the screen wasn't available and they weren't repairing the 2013 iMacs anymore. They both sat on the shelf for years waiting for me to add them to the electronics recycling wasteland. I recently decided to either have them fixed or pitch them and my search of computer repair shops brought me to LapTop MD at 169 South Street in Morristown NJ where I worked with both Michael and Tom who were amazing to get my items fixed. I got them both repaired the same day that they were dropped off at what I thought was a very reasonable price. The MacBook Pro is like new and the iMac is better than new with a solid state much quicker hard drive. I couldn't be happier and I am a very particular consumer so when I tell you that they are the best - believe it. Below is a picture of my Broken iMac that didn't work for about seven years.

I took my MacBook Pro to the Morristown location for repair, because I had a cracked screen and the entire display piece was damaged and needed to be replaced. I live in Massachusetts, but I was going to be in New Jersey for the holidays and felt it was the perfect time to get it fixed. I emailed ahead of time and spoke to Tom Gray, who told me he could have it fixed in one day and that I didn't need an appointment; walk-ins were perfectly fine. I dropped it off on a Monday, and I was told differently that it would be 2-3 days, because the technician wouldn't be in until Wednesday. This would've been solved if I knew this ahead of time when I had emailed them - I would've just made an appointment, instead, but that's fine; whatever. It's annoying, but not the end of the world. I got a call Wednesday morning with a quote, which I approved under the assumption that the entire top would be replaced, as previously discussed. By 5pm that same day, I received a text message that it was repaired and ready for pickup. Perfect! I drove out there to pick it up (it was a 45 minute drive from where I was staying - seemed worth it, because this place had good reviews). I walked in and the guy at the desk turned on my computer and handed it over. I glanced at the screen against my dark display background - no crack - so I paid and left. It wasn't until I returned home that I noticed several issues with the repair. First, it would seem that only the glass was replaced and not the entire display. This causes issue because all of the little black scratches on my display (under the glass) are still there! That's fine, I can deal with it (though annoying), but then I notice against a white Google background that there are a bunch of little tiny specks of dust under the glass. These were not there before. Lastly, I notice the little strip of rubber trim around the display is absolutely destroyed and chewed up, as if someone hacked away at it. The rubber is jagged and rough and certain parts are peeling up. Now I need to take my computer to another repair shop and if it perhaps didn't before, the entire top piece definitely needs to be replaced now. I'm really disappointed with the quality of this repair and now I'm out about $250. On the bright side, the display works and I can use the computer, but if you want a CLEAN, quality repair, this is not the place.

EDIT: After posting reviews and contacting the repair shop, I did receive an apology and a full refund from the owner, Arthur Zilberman. However, I was asked to either change or remove my reviews before the refund would be issued, which is an extremely unethical and shady business practice. As soon as I removed the reviews, the transaction was voided, and the next business day, I had my money back. I am reposting my review with this edit, because I do want to warn future customers what they may* be getting into. I chose this business because all of the reviews were positive, but now I am wondering how many of those have also been altered or removed. I will be staying away from this place.

EDIT 2: After a few days, I noticed the new piece of glass isn't even completely attached to my display. If I touch it in just the right spot, the screen wiggles. Regardless of the messy cosmetics of the repair, the quality is also poor and since it won't hold up, I am changing my star rating from a 2 to a 1. I have also been told from multiple Apple professionals that this repair should have never been completed. MacBook Pro displays in the Late 2011 model should never, under any circumstances, have just the glass replaced. The glass is not meant to be taken off; the computer is not built to have just the glass replaced, because it is glued together, and must always have the whole display replaced, which is what I told this...

This was an almost 3 month saga. My laptop's hard drive started to malfunction literally three weeks after the warranty expired in mid-October. I called Laptop MD as they are a local small business and nearby. Things went really well initially, I dropped my laptop off they said they'd call me the next day with an estimate. They called as promised and gave me an estimate for data recovery, replacement hard drive and also offered to fix my palm rest which had a crack in it but was not really a problem (Oct 26th). They said it would be about a week's repair. The repair took a little longer, but as I was traveling it didn't matter too much (it was ready on Nov 14th). The problems started at this point. The mouse touchpad didn't work. I called them, they said drop it off, it shouldn't take long to fix. I also didn't see it as something that would take them long. Dropped off the next day (Nov 16th). Chap at the front desk (I think his name was Mike) said it he'd get back to me by the evening to give me an update. Two days go by and I don't hear anything, so I follow up. Again told it will be a day or two. Finally hear back from someone on Nov 23rd (7days) - say they need to order parts, so I take my laptop home over the Thanksgiving break as I need it. The Parts come on Nov 30th. I drop off my laptop, again told it should be ready by tomorrow as they have the parts now. Promised a text once it's ready - don't hear anything so I follow up on Dec 3th, again told it will be a day or two and they will text me when it's ready. Hear nothing, so follow up again (week of Dec 6th), nothing again. Follow up Dec 10th - told it will definitely be ready in the evening, said I would pick it up in the next morning Saturday (Dec 11th). Mike calls me for the first time ever, that evening to tell me it's not ready they need more time, but it will be ready by Monday evening (Dec13th). Get an email on Dec15th asking for the password to the user account on the laptop (which means this is actually the first time they have touched my laptop and they have been lying to me until that point). Give them my details, told it should all be good and they'll send me a text (you know where this goes). Phone Dec 16th in the evening, told they can't fix it (after a month!!). Offers me $100 refund off the $540 we paid.....and after dealing with someone really rude who claims he's the owner (Arthur?) give us $150 off. Would be 1 stars, if it was for the refund!! In summary; Touchpad was working before we dropped it off for repair - didn't work afterwards Timeframes they give are nonsense Also they replaced my 1TB drive with a 512Gb drive...so it wasn't really a like for like...
