This huge rock is the highlight of the city. Not sure what the dimensions are but you can definitely see the rock from a good mile away! You can't walk up to the top of thus rock because of nature which is protected but the views are awesome!
I guess there's a warning for people trying to go into the ocean because of strong waves or possibly undertow but I saw dozens of people in and around the surf enjoying the day. There are many angles in which you can take pictures of this huge rock and it makes for some good posters.
There are numerous shops and restaurants that face this rock for a romantic evening supper for two or a family picnic with the kids! Either way this definitely is a great stop...
Read moreBeautiful beach to picnic, surf, chill, or go for a swim. The waves are sometimes sneaky and rogue waves often come up high so don't sit too close to the surf if you cant move all your gear in a jiffy.
Highly recommend picking up some seafood at Giovanni's and eat on the beach. Watch out for pesky gulls that will snatch your food at every opportunity.
If you don't mind going for a short walk, highly recommend checking out Cairn Park on the other side of the rock and keep your eyes peeled for groups of otters...

It looks grey and foggy for the majority of the day. The beach smells bad and we were bitten by a ton of sand fleas that hurt really bad. The wash station is 25¢ for about 20 seconds of water.
