our experience was really bad and we eat here all the time. The guy that took my order had a really bad attitude with me. After I had ordered I realized I forgot to order a bowl of clam chowder so my husband went and order a bowl of clam chowder and a soda because I was uncomfortable ordering from that guy. He ended up getting a girl that took his order and she was incredibly nice. They started calling numbers our number was 134 and and by the time they called 139 we still hadn't got our clam chowder and soda so my son and I went to find the status and the same guy who took our order look at my receipt and basically threw it back at me and said it'll be ready in a minute again very rudely. So I stood there waiting patiently and he kept sending out orders that were way larger and got to ticket number 145 so by that time I walked around to the front window and very nicely said we are still waiting for this order. The very nice and considerate lady said oh my goidness in so sorry I'll get that for you right away. It's really sad how one person can ruin and experience of having a nice little lunch with your family. I really hope he has a better day and changes his attitude...

ambiance/decor: n/a, but the name of the establishment is fairly accurate. presentation isn't the best. the condiment/plasticware area was not well kept and unstocked. it smelled like garbage in the surrounding area and the tables are also very dirty. if you're looking for a restroom use the one in the restaurant next door.

parking is easy to find despite the crowded surrounding appearance. dont' let it deter you.

service: slow. expect a 15-20 wait for your food. again, its a small joint so they don't have a huge staff, but for the quality of food they're producing i feel like it could be quicker.

food: crab sandwich fish/chips ~$20

portion size / price could be better. The fish itself is decent and not too heavily breaded. crab sandwich was nothing special. stick with the family size fish/chips for 2 or...

I love and hate this place as I love and hate deep fried foods that taste good but are bad for you. Been coming here for years. I remember when they had a thatched roof. I imagine it's expensive to repair or replace thatching.

The fish here is lightly breaded, the way i like it. The fries are thin, I'd prefer a steak cut. But, since I like the fish, I'm willing to over look their fries failure.

One boy had the fish tacos. They looked like good. He ate them. I guess he liked them.

The other boy ordered an Ortega Burger. He liked it. It didn't come with fries. He stole some of mine. Really we had plenty of food.

Coronavirus has made seating a bit of a challenge. But, we waiting long enough for our food that an outside table opened up and we ate like barbarians.

I'm sure...

Stopped by on a slow tuesday afternoon, since there was no answer on the to-go order line. Uninspired service, the guy taking the order was just shy of rude. Definitely unhelpful and unfriendly. Tried the combo and a macho burger… Disgusting fish, old, tough, thin batter with no flavor, skin left on half of it. The garlic fries have no flavor, just minced garlic in oil dumped on, not even salt. Tartar sauce was good, dilly. The macho burger was good, huge, but the star was the hot dog, really good, split and fried. The clam chowder is floury- like a thick plain flour pan gravy with clam, celery, and potato in it. Not awesome, not awful, but not deeply flavored and creamy. Save yourself some $ and just order their plain hot dog, its the best thing they have.

We stopped by around 7pm for dinner and there was plenty of outdoor seating. It’s right alongside the water so you can see all of the boats, birds, and sunset around that time. The little one got chicken strips, which she devoured and the adults got the captain burger and a bread bowl of chowder. The burger was good, I added jalapeños though. I will say the bun was not great and fell apart rather quickly. I didn’t include a photo bc it was just messy and not super pretty to see. He said the chowder was pretty good, better than Splash, in his humble opinion haha. Overall, good experience. It’s a little cold out at that time so take a sweater, or blanket. The view is beautiful and the food is good
