Harbor Hut in Morro Bay is an absolute gem, offering a delightful seafood dining experience with breathtaking views of the bay. From start to finish, our meal was a testament to the culinary excellence and warm hospitality that Harbor Hut is known for. As we stepped into the spacious restaurant, we were immediately captivated by the panoramic view of the bay, setting the perfect backdrop for a sunset dinner. The ambiance was serene and sophisticated, creating an ideal atmosphere for an adult dining experience. The menu, while not overwhelming, boasted a variety of options, from locally caught seafood to salads, soups, and even chicken and steak dishes. For our mains, I opted for the shrimp scampi, accompanied by a delectable array of vegetables and the star of the show – the fried potato cake. Let me tell you, this potato cake deserves its own accolades – herb mashed potatoes breaded with parmesan cheese and fried to perfection. Each bite was a heavenly explosion of flavor. The shrimp scampi, served with a lemon butter and caper broth for dipping, was equally divine. My partner indulged in the fish and chips, a generous portion of beer-battered cod accompanied by steak fries. He couldn't stop raving about the savory tartar sauce and the delightful pineapple coleslaw that accompanied the dish. Despite our best intentions, we were too full to even contemplate dessert, a testament to the generous portions and satisfying flavors of our meal. Overall, Harbor Hut exceeded our expectations in every way. With its stellar food, welcoming atmosphere, and stunning views, it's a must-visit destination for seafood lovers and anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience in Morro Bay.

Never been to Harbor Hut before but was pleasantly surprised. I had the rib-eye with bleu cheese and 3 prawns. The prawns were good despite being blackened which I personally don't care for. I dipped them into a sauce my mother received that she was indifferent about and the prawns were better. The sauce was like a cocktail/sweet & sour/mild spice and paired well with certain menu items. The steak was fantastic and prepared to perfection. I made sure to savor every bite. Dad enjoyed the fish and chips. Those were some chunky sized filets! Mom had coconut prawns, rice pilaf and fruit. Those prawns were scrumptious; like a home run and they were like jumbo sized. I seriously thought that they were pork chop medallions when she got her food. She didn't care for the sauce I like on my prawns but another creamy semi-sweet sauce paired well with her meal. The only downside to all of our meals was mom's fruit. Pineapple was good, honeydew was not sweet. All things considered, this was a fabulous first time dining here. Comfortable seating, nice views, waterfront location, prompt refills on drinks, great service overall, friendly staff. I could go on but this is a long review as is. I will happily return next time I am over here in the area. Thank you Harbor Hut for a wonderful dinner.

Harbor Hut gets a one star because of the service alone. Almost didn’t go here because the reviews about the food so they were soggy. The food turned out to be very good; however, the server handed us four totals. And continued overcharging us for everything, (receipts attached) We ordered one soda and two plates of the fish and chips with clam chowder and garlic bread. They were $28 apiece. The soda was $3.75. She then put on a military discount of 10% which brought our total, after tax to $58.47. Here’s the bad part, when we received the check we were told that $60 was our new total and if we wanted to pay in card, it would be $66 and if we wanted to pay in cash, it would be $64. How the EFF am I supposed to pay the original total with the original price!?! WHAT METHOD WOULD YOU LIKE?!? Why, after military discount was put on, did the total Raise by more than two dollars and when we tried to pay with Any form whatsoever, we had to add an additional four - Six dollars on top of that JUST FOR PAYING?!?! What method of payment do I use for The TOTAL?!? Unfortunately, we will not be back because they falsify the price and charge for whatever the heII they want!!! Food was okay but not good enough to combat the pi$$ poor people and math skills! Thanks for taking advantage of our military. You just lost an Old customer. This experience will keep us away for good. If you want amazing food with no price gimmicks, head on over to Suns And Buns or The Blue Sky Bistro!!!!

My daughter and her fiancé were married in Morro Bay February 22, 2025. We had an amazing “Wedding Weekend” filled with a Welcoming Party on Friday evening, a ceremony and reception on Saturday, and a Farewell Brunch on Sunday. We decided to host the Farewell Brunch at the Harbor Hut. Harbor Hut stepped up and ended our “Wedding Weekend” with superb service, food and drinks! Max, the general manager, was wonderful to work with and accommodated all of our guests (approximately 50) with amazing customer service. Max allowed us to created a personalized brunch menu that included entree choices, the newlyweds names, and specialty drinks. Such a nice personal touch! The staff was friendly and fun- just like the ambience and decor of the Harbor Hut. It was such a relief to end our weekend of celebrations here- We had to add absolutely nothing to prepare the space! The Harbor Hut has a unique tiki/surfer vibe and hosts a beautiful view of Morro Bay across the back of the restaurant. Cheers to Max and the Harbor Hut Family. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate with all of you and for providing a wonderful ending to our “Wedding Weekend” celebration in Morro Bay. We highly recommend Harbor Hut when looking for a great restaurant in Morro Bay.

There are so many seafood options on the Embarcadero that its sometimes hard to know which one to pick. Tognazzinis is my favorite joint so it always went to the top of the list when we're deciding on a place to dine, but this past weekend we decided to try Harbor Hut. + Great spacious interior with a very tropical vibe. It feels like you're on vacation when you're in here! + Surprisingly bright interior with lots of beautiful, healthy indoor plants -- philodendrons, monsteras, pothos, etc....you name it, they have it! + Clean, well-maintained, single stall restrooms for patrons. + Great view of the bay and the Rock. How can you not love a place like this?! + Very professional, friendly service + Menu isn't very extensive but it has all the staples. I was expecting more of a surf and turf menu since it's labeled as a "steak and seafood" restaurant, but I feel like it leaned more on the seafood side. + Delicious Fish and Chips! I would recommend these. They were moist, flaky, had a great batter, and were generous portions. + The burger was decent. The bun was over-toasted so it was a crunchy burger to bite into. But overall, solid. + Prices are reasonable for the overall quality of the food and dining experience.

I WANTED TO ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE SO BAD! The waitress was excellent, the service was excellent, the view was phenomenal! But the food…… oh my… the chowder tasted like nothing. I had an Asian salad that was def a frozen or microwaved chewy chicken breast. Stir fry Frozen veggie mix in a salad? Like really? Cut a fresh pepper bro, we’re in CA. Lettuce was fresh at least…. Fish and chips, fish were good, not over bartered like a lot of places, but again, fries, no seasoning 🤭…..at this point we were just like give me all the salt and pepper. It was just a letdown. We walked by the outdoor burger hut, and that area smelled flavorful.🤣
