Many people recommended this restaurant for breakfast, so we decided to give it a try. Our waitress had zero personality and seemed absolutely miserable and unhappy to be there. She took our drink and food order. I asked for extra sugar for my coffee. She never bothered to bring it. When our food came out it was brought by food runners which were very friendly. I wanted a refill of my coffee but the waitress never once came over to us to check on us or see if we needed anything. She barely came out of the kitchen the entire time we were there. Halfway through the meal, my husband found a rivet from the handle of a pan in his food! A manager had walked around to a couple of the tables to check and see how everyone's visit was but did not come to our table. I went to the front desk to ask for our check because at this point, we were ready to leave. My husband was not going to eat his food with chunks of metal in it and I needed condiments and a refill of my drink which I was never able to even ask for. The manager said the waitress is having a bad day because she has a headache. I can completely sympathize with that but if you are not able to do your job competently you should be home. He offered to take my husband's food off of the check. About 10 minutes later, I flagged down the waitress and asked for our check. She asked if we even got our food because our plates were gone. I said yes, that other waiter was kind enough to clear the table for us since we had been sitting here for so long after we were done. She brought our check then immediately walked away even though we had our credit card out and ready to pay. Another five or so minutes go by and I just went up to the bar to pay our checks so we could leave and go somewhere and enjoy breakfast and coffee. We definitely will...

Instead, we needed to hunt down a server who said to "sit anywhere." After passing a table where menu's were piled haphazardly, we selected a table with a nice view of the garden. This was the best part of our visit, so I included a photo of the view. My wife needed to clear some crumbs from her seat before sitting down, but we settled in for a nice meal and evening.
Our server seemed decidedly overburdened, as it seemed she was responsible for all table service in the restaurant and the adjacent bar. That being said, she did not go out of her way to welcome us or make suggestions or even mention the special they were running. After asking specifically about the special, she produced a laminated prix fixe menu for two.
Not finding the special particularly appealing, we ordered drinks and an appetizer. My wife ordered the Lakeside Inn Sunset, which was okay. I ordered a Shock Top which was served in a bottle (no mug or orange slice). We ordered their bruschetta for an appetizer. It was cold and the bread was disturbingly chewy, not crispy at all.
At that point, we decided to cut our losses and ask for the check, which was delivered promptly. There was no question as to why two guests, who were clearly planning on eating dinner, were leaving after an appetizer. If anything, I believe the serve was relieved to have one less table to...
Read moreWe made our Mother's Day reservations weeks in advance but faced multiple disappointments. Upon arrival, we had to wait an extra 15 minutes to be seated, which was just the beginning. Our first concern was a water glass with a noticeable residue of bleach. Additionally, the deviled eggs we ordered arrived with hair in them, raising serious concerns about cleanliness. The service was slow, and after being seated for 1.5 hours without our main course, our server was upfront about the delay, explaining that the kitchen was backed up and our order was in queue, with an additional wait of at least 15 minutes expected. Given the prolonged wait, we decided to leave and asked the manager so we could pay for what we had consumed. Contrarily, the manager insisted we stay because our food was supposedly being plated at that moment. When our food finally arrived, my fries were cold, suggesting they had either been sitting out or hastily taken from another order. Our server initially promised a 50% discount for our troubles, yet the bill reflected only a 25% discount. Observing the table next to us, we noticed that a man and his mother also left their meal unsatisfied, which indicated we weren’t the only patrons disappointed that day.Overall, our Mother's Day was marred by poor service, unprofessional management, and serious lapses in food safety and quality. I hope our experience prompts significant improvements in service...
