Stopped in to get a card & something on the small side to add to a gift card for milestone birthday. Wasn’t looking to spend any more than 20 bucks to add to the gift card. I found a real cute mud pie sugar and creamer set for $27.99 and decided to purchase it along side a six dollar card and some Johnson’s popcorn. When I got to the counter I ask for the gift to be gift wrapped. The girl at the counter said she could only wrap it in tissue. Basically, I would have to buy a box for eight dollars first. What the heck??!! I have been to and purchased from this store countless times through the years & never had to buy a box for them to wrap a gift item. The creamer and sugar set was breakable… So a gift bag was really out of the question. I really wish I would’ve left the store with no card and no Johnson’s popcorn, either! ( simply out of protest!) But oh well… I won’t be back to this Hallmark store again. Shame on them for not having boxes for their customers. If they are that cheep, then leave the breakable items in the boxes they came shipped in or charge a few bucks for gift wrapping. (Which I would gladly pay as a service...but not $8 just for a badly...
Read moreMy daughters and I showed up 10 minutes before closing figuring we would run in and grab some ornaments real fast knew we were cutting it close with their closing time. Of course kids being kids, my littlest one needed to use the bathroom so we rushed to go use the bathroom next-door at the restaurant and it took a little while so by the time we got back it was normal closing time but the staff was nice enough to wait knowing that we had ran down there to use the bathroom so they unlocked the doors and let me and my little ones still have the opportunity to shop for our yearly Christmas ornaments that we get. It was so nice of them to wait for us like that and to hold off locking up and being done for the night to let us still be able to pick ornaments out. That definitely wasn’t expected and for sure appreciated. Thanks again to the staff there that night for making my two little girls so happy because of how much they look forward to doing that yearly with picking the ornament. had we had to come back another day it would’ve been a very disappointing and upset ride home but instead it was full of smiles for what they picked out to go on the...
Read moreI have been very disappointed in my last 3 shopping trips to Norman's. I send only Hallmark cards and spend alot of money there. Recently I was purchasing Christmas cards and gifts and at the checkout the cashier was talking and complaining about the store so much she made several errors with my purchase. I stepped aside, checked my receipt, caught the errors and had to get back in line to resolve the problem. This was a problem again the following week. I called after that to complain and was told a manager wasn't available. Today I had an exchange and spoke directly to a manager and her response was "sorry". How unprofessional and annoying. She seemed annoyed that I had an exchange and she needed to come frim the back. I then left the store and went to another Hallmark, Teddy's, and spent $100. I think I will make Teddy's my go to store. I never had a problem at Norman's until after the renovation and expansion. Sometimes you...
