I just visited this Goodwill and I had a very strange interaction with an employee that kind of made me uncomfortable. I was walking through the housewares section looking at the various different plastic containers and Tupperware that was on the shelves. On the floor in the middle of the aisle I saw a file organizer, so I picked it up to put it back on the shelf because why leave it on the floor for someone to trip over. I hadn’t realized that there was an employee at the end of the aisle who was organizing the shelves. She saw me pick it up and told me that it was going into the office section. I apologized and I put it back where it was on the floor in case that was just where she wanted it to be and I told her I just wanted to make sure no one tripped and fell over it. She proceeds to rant at me about how if "people trip, they trip, goodwill’s not gonna pay them for it." Found this really strange and really uncomfortable that she was just saying that she didn’t care if somebody got hurt because she left something in the middle of the floor. I proceeded to walk away, and she was still ranting at me about how "Goodwill would never pay people out, they would fight to prevent paying anybody if they were hurt in the store, blah blah blah." So bizarre. Employees should definitely not be encouraging injuries inside of a store.
Overall, the store is really clean, very well organized, and fairly priced. The employee who checked me out with the long red braids was...
Read moreWe tend to travel to all Goodwill's for amazing experience and spectacular finds and although it is not necessarily the place we expect top notch customer service. Today it was exceptionally bad. We come to shop at this one regularly and found that rules were not implemented regarding the line after 4 people moved around the room to stand in line to not cut anyone off. Then when it got to me it was ma'am the line is over there.
My friend was with me and as we found pictures and other items we appreciated the finds and seemed to be going fine, until Jayden wanted us to round up in change because he refused any other option and then we requested a supervisor. Not expecting her to also have a sharp tone and even sharper response regarding change.
I understand there maybe a change shortage and even still maybe they don't like their jobs but neither is on our part the issue. I then offered to pay with my card and said ma'am that was incredibly rude. She said of course you would side with her. I don't even want to know the reason of that implication. Then Jayden returned only to say yall have a nice life as He just refused to let things go or to apologize sincerely for lacking in customer care.
We will venture further out if this is the expectation of service to just pay for items. We tend to bring a lot of things to donate here as well but I appreciate others at this store and I hope that this is not the experience that others have had in the past or...
Read moreUpdate your archaic mask policy considering most other stores are not requiring them for the vaccinated. Or at the very least, be consistent when asking patrons to leave your store when not wearing a mask. I know a woman may be an easier target for a middle manager trying to assert his dominance but it does make you look a bit disingenuous and weak when there are gentlemen wandering around the store without masks who were never approached by said manager. And if it's really all about the health, why were we in there for 30 minutes before being approached? You sure had no problem accepting my large donation (while maskless) a few minutes prior to shopping in the store. And you definitely had no problem with us walking through the store to purchase our items (not every day you find a new pair of Vans for 6 bucks!) after you asked us to leave. Absolute nonsense. But at least your inconsistency and salient abject fear of approaching the men in the store who weren't wearing masks gave my daughter and I...
