My girlfriend and I seen this waterfall yesterday.. It's seems that a lot of people are complaining about the price of it, but dont stop to think of the upkeep.. It's privately owned, nothing states it a "state owned" park.. Yes, there are many other waterfalls in the same area for free.. This is one of few that doesnt have a million stairs to climb up and down. It's also very clean and has a beautiful setting. The owner has a rainbow trout pond where you can buy feed for 25 cents and feed them and the " greedy" ducks.. The prices are posted on the door leading to the falls, for adults and kids. I didnt hear them say nor was it posted that strollers, and wheelchairs where not allowed. They dont force you to pay, it's all by choice. You pay you see falls, you dont well you know the rest. The gnomes are placed out for the kids, they find one they win a prize. The gift shop has a lot of different trinkets, shirts, etc and she even had a few tables and a couple racks of clearance stuff.. Both ladies at the register were very nice... If anyone thinks this is expensive, take a trip to the boat tour gift shop and see what you can find there for free.. We will be returning to visit...
Read moreOf all of the places my family and I visited over the weekend, the Horseshoe Falls and Gift Shop was by far the most friendly and accommodating. We got rained out of an evening viewing, and they gave us a raincheck for the following day, and certainly didn't disappoint. The ladies in the gift shop were amazingly friendly, engaging and absolutely charming with my children. A pre-schooler and 1st grader on a whirlwind weekend trip can be pretty exhausting, and the staff charmed them back into a happy mood within seconds. The "gnome hunt" was a perfect accompaniment to the waterfall and springs viewing and the girls loved it. As parents, we chuckled as the girls tried to pronounce the Gnome names and then chuckled again as we actually read them. The trails were extremely well maintained, the bridges were sturdy and while not "long" the walk was quite enjoyable. For around $35, the attraction was modestly priced and I'd say a good value. The gift shop was typical and well stocked with local items and trinkets. And there is also hand packed local ice cream.....never forget the ice cream. Definitely recommend a stop at the...
Read moreRudest customer service we have ever encountered! When we walked into the gift shop the lady behind the desk never greeted us. We never saw any signs indicating that you had to pay to see the falls. My family and I started walking down the trail and the lady from the gift shop followed us out, instantly started accusing us of trying to get past her without paying. We tried telling her that we didn't see any signs about paying and that it was just a miss understanding. She mumbled something rude under her breath and said again that we needed to pay inside. So we followed her back into the gift shop, the lady let the door basically slam into my face. We were so mad that we just walked straight out, how can someone like that run a business? She was instantly accusing us of trying to get in for free. It was just so unbelievable! Will never be back!! There are so many beautiful waterfalls to see up there that are...
