I cannot believe how insanely amazing Pictured Rocks Pizza is! It’s not just a pizzeria—it’s a transcendent, life-altering experience that had me questioning how I ever lived without it. I’m talking about the BEST pizza in the entire galaxy, and I say that without exaggeration (okay, maybe a little—but honestly, it’s close!). I visited Munising and rented a pontoon right across the street, and let me tell you—the convenience of grabbing not just one, but EIGHT pizzas from Pictured Rocks Pizza before heading out on the lake was nothing short of a genius-level move.
From the moment I walked in, I was hit with the intoxicating aroma of fresh dough, bubbling cheese, and the most incredible toppings you can imagine. I knew I was in for something special, but I had no idea that these pizzas were about to change my entire worldview. I’m talking pizzas so good, they should be considered a national treasure. I might start a petition to have them listed as one of the wonders of the world!
I ordered eight different pizzas, and each one was more incredible than the last. Every bite was like a symphony of flavors playing directly to my soul. The crust? PERFECTION. Crispy on the outside, pillowy on the inside—it’s like they’ve mastered some ancient pizza magic. The sauce? Pure, delicious bliss, with just the right balance of tang and sweetness. And the toppings? Don’t even get me started. Everything tasted so fresh, so flavorful, it was like the ingredients were hand-picked by pizza gods themselves. The cheese was gooey and melty, like a dream you never want to wake up from.
What made the experience even better was how convenient it was to grab these pizza masterpieces and then literally walk across the street to my pontoon rental. I was the KING of the lake that day! I mean, who else gets to float around in paradise, eating the best pizza known to humankind? Everyone on the boat couldn’t stop raving about how good it was. I think the fish were jealous too! We spent hours devouring pizza after pizza, with each slice making me love Pictured Rocks Pizza even more.
If you’re ever in Munising and you DON’T stop here, you’re doing life wrong. Honestly, I’d drive from the other side of the country just to have this pizza again. Heck, I might even swim across Lake Superior for it! Pictured Rocks Pizza isn’t just a meal—it’s a whole experience, a moment in time that you’ll never forget.
I’m already planning my next trip back. Eight pizzas weren’t enough. Next time, I’m going for twelve!
Thank you, Pictured Rocks Pizza, for giving me the greatest day of my...
Read moreWe had the unfortunate experience of visiting this establishment last night, and I am still in disbelief at the level of unprofessionalism and blatant disrespect we encountered. The manager — a tall, older gentleman — was shockingly rude, condescending, and displayed openly racist behavior toward my family.
My wife, who is vegetarian and allergic to meat, politely asked the staff member preparing our food to change her gloves. Though the employee claimed to have just changed them, she had immediately wiped down a meat-covered counter with the same gloves. When my wife pointed this out, the employee argued with her before begrudgingly changing them — all of this at a build-your-own pizza-style restaurant where cross-contamination should be taken seriously.
As this was happening, the manager began yelling at my wife and our kids, saying, “Just order your damn pizza — you all are a pain in the butt!” He continued to taunt us in front of other customers, sarcastically saying, “Please change gloves for some people,” clearly mocking our concerns.
My wife, understandably shaken and disgusted, walked out and refused to eat there. The racist tone of the manager and the employee laughing at our family was offensive beyond words. I am appalled that this kind of behavior is tolerated anywhere, let alone in a customer-facing business.
I am seriously considering legal action. No one should be treated this way — ever. I sincerely hope this place is held accountable before more families are subjected to such...
Read moreThe best restaurant in town! We stayed in Munising for three nights and ate here twice. We would’ve gone a third time, but, unfortunate for us, they were closed on Sunday. Highly recommend the Arugula and Pictured Rocks Local Special. Cookie pizza with ice cream also hit the spot. A great selection of different pizza toppings. The quality/freshness and flavors of the ingredients were fantastic. Good-sized pizza. Clean kitchen. Super fast service. Friendly staff. They have a small indoor seating area and a large outdoor patio with low- and high-top tables. Very family-friendly—outdoor corn hole and a giant Connect 4. Only downsides would be 1) it’s not very accessible for those in wheelchairs or who are disabled: stairs going up to entrance and most outdoor seating is pretty tight under the gazebo besides two tables on the perimeter of the yard (we offered to give up our table for an elderly couple—one of whom was in a wheelchair—but they ordered their food to go). And 2) the space in front of the kitchen/cashier to place your order is so cramped and not conducive for a queue: this place gets pretty busy (honestly, you’ll wait longer in line than to wait for your food), and the line gets so long inside that the entrance and the fountain drink station get blocked. We had an instance where a couple cut us in line because they didn’t know where the line ended. They need to find a more efficient way to queue and place your order. Overall, their food and service is top notch. Definitely would...
