Miss Good Stitch — Local services in Munising

My friend and I were visiting the UP earlier this week and spent some time in Munising. We were walking around the town and ended up in the Miss Good Stitch store. We were looking at the fabrics and sewing supplies and really enjoyed the selection. However, I needed to use the restroom suddenly and inquired about it with the owner (I'm assuming). She stared at me blankly for what felt like a minute, before kind of rolling her eyes and saying something like, "Cuz you're gonna buy a lot of stuff, right?" This put me off and I almost just wanted to turn around and leave. She could have just said no. Then she asked me to be respectful and keep her bathroom clean. So I said that I would and thanked her, used the restroom and walked back out. My friend came up to me and said that her and another woman were talking about me after I had left and were discussing whether I was going #1 or #2. The whole interaction was very uncomfortable and her demeanor was a little rude and unprofessional. Perhaps she was just having a bad day. I had full intentions of supporting a local business, but felt so unsettled that we just decided to leave...

So my wife and I being from the east end of the u.p. are no strangers to gift/souvenir shops....so we decided to go into this one since the sign said "unique" and it did NOT disappoint. If you want the best gift shop that munising has to offer it's THIS place...the owner is amazing, super friendly, and sells AWESOME product. One of a kind for sure...she even helped me out with a first aid kit after a fly bit my leg...AND supplied a roller up newspaper to my wife to swat said fly (there may have been some conspiring going on there). Point is...if you're looking for a shop that IS NOT LIKE THE OTHERS and looking for other local business products....THIS IS IT! we love the u.p. and while I didn't catch the name of miss stitch...people like her are one of...

I’m always stopping at new quilt stores when I’m traveling. You never know what you will find (whether you need or want it)! Ginger is the most friendly and outgoing shop owner I have ever met in my travels. Highly recommend stopping in to see her shop. Beautiful fabrics and kits. She also has a little gift shop.
