It’s great to have a place that offers plant-based options. But don’t come here unless you have the spare time and patience to wait for 5 high school kids to take 30 minutes to put together a veggie burger to go, with nobody else in the restaurant and no orders ahead of hours. This is not an exaggeration.

EDIT: just realized that the staff are in the back making their own food, and have ignored our order for the last 30+ minutes. When my wife asked about her food, one girl started to explain why “veggie burgers take longer because..” before my wife cut her off to spare her from the embarrassment of lying about why a veggie burger takes more than 30 minutes to assemble. Skip this nonsense and eat at Subway.

EDIT to respond to this crock of BS reply: we stood in the lobby and watched straight into the back of the kitchen as your staff sat around doing nothing. Drinking drinks, talking, hanging out, making their own food. There was no “rush of online orders.” There was no rushing of any kind. They simply lost or forgot or ignored our order ticket. Then, when my soft-spoken wife inquired about the order after 30 minutes, we saw your worker go to the receipt printer and pick up our ticket, look guiltily at another girl standing there clearly having not seen our order, and then come out to try and make excuses about “veggie burgers just take longer because…” instead of owning the mistake. “Actually cried about the whole thing” apparently the BS starts at the top and just rolls down from there.

Skip the establishment on principle of not supporting a bunch of lazy liars. The food is overpriced and mid as well, unless $17 pre-made overly salty Caesar salads...

Edited to add: Dear Owner - Your response does not reflect what happened. Our credit card was charged at 5:39pm. We left immediately after my husband was handed his order, and Google maps shows we left at 6:31pm. That is 52 minutes, not 30. There was no yelling involved by anyone, especially my husband. No one stated the wrap was remade. We were told by 2 different employees that they were sorry, but there were a lot of online orders. We did not receive a refund for our food. They did offer Gelato, but we had no way to keep it cold and declined. Shall we talk about how the cashier walked away from the counter while people were waiting to order? Or how the door to the kitchen was open and customers could see your employees standing around doing nothing? Your response indicates that either your employees lied to you or you are lying to the public. Either way, it needs to be clarified that your response in no way reflects what occurred. ............................................................The posted wait time after ordering and paying was 25 minutes. When we asked about our paid-for order after waiting 40 minutes we were told they had a lot of on-line orders. Huh? Fill new orders for on-line when paid customers are waiting in person? My husband's wrap, once it finally came, was good, but someone must have spilled the salt shaker on the chicken in my salad. We will not...

Continuing on our road trip through Michigan, our next stop was to see the Pictured Rock National Lakeshore. We stayed a couple of nights in a yurt and had a lovely time seeing the sights. We also enjoyed lunch at the Driftwood Deli in Munising.

One awesome thing about this deli is it is actually connected to the ByGeorge Brewing Co! They had an awesome patio where we were able to enjoy a couple of beers and some tasty food.

My wife had the chicken bacon panini topped with garlic aioli, spinach, aroma tomato, red onion, muenster, and mozzarella cheese on a ciabatta bun ($11). This was an outstanding sandwich and it was served with some housemade flavored pretzels and dip.

Our kids enjoyed the hot dog and the grilled cheese (both $7). These were nearly the same serving size as an adult sandwich, so plenty of food for the little ones.

I really enjoyed the chicken Milanese grinder, with breaded chicken, fresh mozzarella, tomato basil salad, arugula, and a lemon mayo sauce ($13). The Cuban bread was very tasty and pressed on the panini maker as well.

This was a wonderful stop after a busy morning of kayaking on Lake Superior....

Stopped for veggie/vegan menu items and enjoyed a hearty meal. The cauliflower bites are not a side snack but a full meal that cost $10 and can easily be shared between 2-3 people. They have different flavors of toss-sauce and you can pick up to 2. We split our Portobello Panini too and had food left over to take with us. The pretzels are delicious and extremely salty. We recommend trying the Superior Kombucha, made right in Marquette, MI! The glass bottle claims that this company takes back their bottles for reuse so we'll be investigating this closed-loop business practice and hope it pans out. Zero people were masking between staff or patrons but we got no guff for wearing ours inside while ordering and were able to sit comfortably outside in their fenced patio area. Dogs are welcome in the patio space. Bathrooms are located down the hall inside the brewery.

The food was truly excellent, and it was certainly worth the price. We were fortunate enough to be the first diners just a few minutes before opening, so we didn't have to wait at all. We had initially planned to eat elsewhere, but the other restaurant was very busy, with a 45-minute wait. Fortunately, Driftwood Deli was just a short walk away, and we were very pleased with our experience. Dude, I got the Italiano with chips and dips, and it's amazing. The bread was awesome, and it tasted so good. You gotta try it! My family got the bacon chicken, chicken rice bowl, and veggie bowl, and they all loved them. This is a great place to grab a bite on a nice patio, which is where we ate. I'd recommend it for tourists. We came to Michigan for a lodge getaway, so this spot is perfect for socializing.
