A day trip to Naples to pick up some stuff turned into a fun, unexpected stop at Tin City. It's a tourist trap spot, but quaint. We got lucky with parking - otherwise it seems like a nightmare. We had a nice time going in and out of shops. I got some Christmas shopping done (yes, it's the end of May...) & picked up some cool stuff for myself. I loved the oil and vinegar shop- delicious and you can taste test - which lead me to purchasing small bottles of many rather than a large bottle of one. If you're into beachy stuff like I live for... this place is for you. They have all kinds of other shops from kiddy stuff, fun goofy stuff, casual tourist shirts to very nice items, artwork, shirts/clothing & jewelery, some snack food places and a couple restaurants. One clothing/shirts shop, the guy designs all of the artwork himself - not just selling other people's stuff - if you're into fishing and water based creatures... it's a must! I could have bought 1 of everything... most on the sweat-wicking fabric. Basically something for everyone. A nice stop. Warning, very tight, small, compact area... so a lot in very lite space if you don't like compact areas... maybe not for you - not wide open like a mall...
Read moreIf you go to Tin City around Naples, Florida don't forget the Tin City Sunset Cruise. Our boat had a wonderful crew. I probably will not spell the names correctly. Captain Josh, Brax and Michaela were very friendly and attentive. As you cruise the waterway, you will see many beautiful homes. Captain Josh was very informative about the homes with the addition of some much appreciated humor thrown in. At a certain point, the microphone needed to be turned off. Brax on the upper deck and Michaela on the lower deck picked up where Captain Josh left off. Close to sunset, we headed to the Gulf. We cruised around the Gulf until the sun was setting. Brax asked if any passengers on the upper deck needed him to make pictures of them with their friends and or family with the sun setting in the background. What a beautiful view being on the water and watching the changing colors of sunset. I will caution you to bring a jacket. After the sun sets it is a little chilly on the water and the ride back...
Read moreThe Waterfront is an amazing place to see a variety of people, boats, restaurants and even birds. The restaurants are simply fantastic, as evidenced by the throngs of people consistently filling the seats. There is a wide variety of fish and land dishes to fit any taste, and the friendly and efficient staff are prompt and friendly. The prices are not outrageous, but moderate. Given the locations and quality of food, it's well worth it for the experience. Much to see and do in and around the Tin City and I highly recommend it! There are even fishing boats coming in and you can see the daily catches being off loaded and even cleaned tight on the docks. Handicapped parking and access is available, and there are many small gift shops and ice cream in the immediate area as well.
