Bought skis online from Proctor Ski. The online process was very easy, paid with Amazon pay, and was contacted quickly by Proctor about my order. I elected to pick up my skis in Nashua NH, but they were willing to ship them. I needed bindings and I wanted to talk to a representative about that part.
They recommended two different manufacturers of bindings based on my settings/skis, installed them right there because they knew I drove a distance for them. Which saved the hassle of driving there twice. All of the employees were very pleasant to deal with. You definitely felt welcome in their shop. The shop itself was very clean, had a good amount of stock, and a wide variety of gear. It was a pleasure doing business with them. As for prices, they are comparable to the other shops. My skis were last years model discounted 50%. That was a extremely good deal. And since I bought them from them, I plan to have them serviced by them. I recommend Proctor ski to anyone looking for a nice, respectful business...
Read morePros: will let you pay early to reserve skis. Will refund your money. Cons: the staff never informed these non-skiers that skis need to be picked up in "early autumn" to get the skis you paid for. They then try to sell you on renting new instead of used skis. Classic bait and switch. If you are a big skier and know the ins and outs of rentals, have at it. I would rather rent new skis fro. Somewhere else then give them a dime for the scam they tried to pull on me. I paid to have skis available. You have my money and my phone number if your inventory was getting low. Last year we rented here at this time of year without a problem. Not so much this year. That was simply my experience. And I will only briefly mention the young girl's attitude while fitting skis. It was less then pleasant. Update: I also had 0 problem hitting the next ski shop and getting used rentals, in case the girl who doubted that I could get them...
Read moreI had the pleasure of meeting and working with Jeff recently when buying new ski boots. I traveled from out of state looking for a personalized customer experience. I have been skiing for 50+ years (thought I knew more than I did) and I was close to buying online but wanted make sure I was fitted properly. Jeff did not rush me and had me try on several boots. In the end, I was a full size smaller with a custom insole, which would not have been the case online. Having a shorter boot sole length meant my bindings needed to be adjusted. I had my skis with me in the car and he made the necessary adjustments (showed me a couple things I would have missed if I had made the adjustments myself) and tested everything. I could not be more satisfied with the great service from Jeff and the team at Proctor Ski! Thank you for a great...
