I have visited SkyVenture four different times, for different purposes each time, and it was 100% great each time. The first time a friend took me there as a birthday present to me. It was awesome (people say I am hard to buy presents for, but this one hit it out of the park!) I took my son there soon after that, just because I was trying to tell him how awesome the place is. He loved it too. The next two times I took a out-of-town friend there, one from Hong Kong, and the other guy from Calif. Every time they raved about the experience, and said it was definitely different than the "usual" tourist things here in NH. The staff here, from top to bottom, are all interested and engaged in the work they do, and they really want me to have a good time and to have fun. Safety is stressed as important, but they even make that fun. I felt like I was among friends, not only the staff but even the other customers seemed like friends as this was a new and exciting thing that we were all doing together. Really cool experience. I also had a chance to try the water park half of the business the last two times I was there. This was more fun than I expected and while not as fun as the sky diving (to me, anyway), I will probably do that again also.
I have heard a little grumbling from friends at work about the price. It's sort of expensive, compared to a dinner and a movie, for example. But it's not prohibitive, and it's not the kind of thing you would do every week. So it's a special occasion and I would say worth every penny you pay. That pays for the training, the jumpsuit and equipment rental, more training, supervision, the machinery, the solid building and premises, and the know-how and experience of these excellent men and women who help you through the entire process, and like I said, they want you to have a great experience.
Incidentally, if you want to go there and watch other people doing it, you can go inside and watch for free and even ask the people how it was once they get out of the jump gear I suppose. That is what I did the first time I was there, and that kind of sold me on the idea of...
Read moreI brought my young teen daughters here to try their hand at free falling in the indoor skydiving tunnel, as both their parents are skydivers. They were excited and a little anxious. The instructor was clear and humorous, and with a few minutes of instructions and suiting up we were in the "on deck" benches with a the instructor in the tunnel bring us in one at a time. It was amazing to watch how fast they learned to fly stably, I figure that was the first 6 months of learning to skydive all in one session. If they decide to jump when they are old enough, they will be that much safer, already knowing how to control their bodies in free fall. There was a low quality fishyeye video outside the window and a pro photographer in the doorway taking what were probably some nice shots, but we were not given an opportunity to see or purchase these. We were handed a free CD of the video. Oddly, the other family that was in there with us were not given one, so I promised to edit it down for them and send it to them. Unfortunately, the files on the CD were pretty corrupt - missing chunks and not something I was able to edit. I got some brief clips of low res video, that wouldn't convert to something useable. Anyway, it was a treat of an experience. It will be remembered longer than any stuff...
