A few years ago I enjoyed my first experience with the crew @ Rivergate Cartronics when I was looking for a replacement radio for my '92 Ranger; one with a cassette tape player. I was treated with respect & professionalism though mine would not be a high $$ transaction. I was shown & purchased a Kenwood unit & one of the last of its kind with the cassette tape feature I wanted. I was extremely pleased with the outstanding service & product I found @ Rivergate Cartronics. Yesterday, I returned to the Rivergate Cartronics store to add new speakers & a stand alone Parrott Bluetooth system my Santa bride had given me for Christmas. Though these items had been purchased elsewhere, the Rivergate Cartronics service folks were happy to see me & take on the installation chore. Robert, efficient, professional, knowledgeable & gentile, greeted, serviced & set up an appointment for me to get the job done. I arrived @ 9:00 a.m., along with several others who had been waiting for the doors to open. We were all checked in promptly with courtesy & a prevailing air of "I am happy to work here & serve you today". This spirit remained throughout my stay @ their shop. Various employees asked if they could help me with anything, and even asked if they could bring me anything back from their lunch break. Robert, who did the actual installation work on my vehicle, came out where I was waiting to advise of one of the initial problems he encountered with my vehicle; that being all four factory speakers had been riveted in place which had to be drilled out. He could be sloppy & quick, but said that is not how he respects his clients. I appreciated that. He asked my preference, as well as offered his suggestions, for the placement of various components of my Parrott system . . . I appreciated that as well. Robert is a true "Pro" who has worked for many years for Cartronics. Cartronics is multi-faceted offering a wide range of vehicle upgrades such as lighting, wheels, audio / video, GPS & even graphics. I was very impressed with their audio / video studios which is a must to visit before you decide on a subject system upgrade for your vehicle. Yes, I went to my tried and true service provider but left with a slight desire to seek another opinion for various reasons. Cartronics was the name that kept popping up for me. I did a little research on them and their history in business and decided to give them a call. I was referred to Shane as the marine expert who could meet me at the marina where the boat is kept and give me an idea as to what it would cost to achieve what I wanted to achieve.
I met with Shane a couple days later at the boat and to say I was impressed is an understatement. His knowledge of the marine products available and his knowledge of what would be needed to complete the install was readily apparent. Shane took the time to listen to my thoughts on what I was trying to achieve within the budget that I wanted to work within. Shane never tried to oversell me and actually revised the initial estimate several times in an attempt to get me what I wanted. Shane was so much more than just a sales person throughout this process. Shane actually did the installation on the project as well. He kept me informed of what was going on and made changes on the fly when needed. Shane / Cartronics provided me with a finished product that exceeded my expectations. While Cartronics was just a name on the internet ( a name with great reviews by the way) to me when I began this process, Shane's professionalism, his knowledge, and his attitude are what sold me. Cartronics just acquired a new customer (taking me away from a competitor) because of their willingness to employ a professional such as Shane.
I can only speak to my experience with marine audio but I would highly recommend reaching out to Cartronics & Shane to anyone needing their products...

Most important.....a reasonably good experience.
Sold me a display unit without telling me. Iām okay with that for the most part except the screen is already marked up from peopleās fingers. Gave me a price for unit and installation which would have included a USB port installed in dash. Didnāt have the part so they made something useable up for me. I didnāt like the appearance because it just looked like something that was just added on. When I told them and said I would like to come back and get the part installed as it should be when it came in, I was THEN told it would be extra. Obviously it shouldnāt be because it was intended to be included in the original installation. Iāll press that issue a little harder when I get it done. I think weāll be able to work out something satisfactory.
The gentleman that did the installation, Sherman, was simply great. He was considerate, professional and courteous. He took his time to explain everything and genuinely took care with his work product. I was singularly impressed.
Logan, the sales rep....nice guy. Professional and courteous. But I think he tried to hoo doo me a bit as I explained above. Still, Iām reasonably satisfied and I think they have done a good job. But I should have been advised I was being sold a display unit. And the price thing on the installation is so silly itās almost humorous. I trust weāll get it worked out satisfactorily.
As a whole, a reasonably good experience. But Iāll have to say, Sherman, the installation pro is whetting the edges when things could have gone more south. I canāt say enough about how professional he has been. If I was just flat dissatisfied with everything else, I would still be completely satisfied with his effort. A credit to the...
