I spent a LOT of money at this store. I will not buy from them again. It took an hour to enter the order because of âsystem problems.â They had the shipping address wrong, and it took three calls afterward to get it corrected before delivery. (The delivery company ultimately fixed it, not Ballard.) I was given a couple different projected delivery dates, which I understand is normal in a pandemic. It suddenly arrived two months earlyâexcept for the missing corner piece tor my custom benches. Two inquiries and no info, so I donât know where that essential piece is and when to expect it. Most annoying, I paid a whopping $550 in delivery charges, and the guys dumped these heavy, huge boxes in the living room and left. I had to call for help so I could uncrate the furniture and dispose of the packing materials. These heavy, stapled boxes were big enough for me to walk through. The design consultation at the store was helpful. But I made a $7k spend, I should be wholly satisfied with the total experience. I am most decidedly NOT. The furniture better hold up....
Update: I wasnât thrilled with the response from the store itself, but a corporate customer service rep reached out after seeing my review (similar to this one) elsewhere. She was very helpfulâapologetic and determined to make things right. If my issues are resolved in the manner she says she has arranged, I will...
Read moreI actually live in Nashville and ordered from Ballard Designs. The ordering process if terribly misleading. They have items on the final sale but then send emails after some of the items are shipped that others are on backorder for months. If they are on final sale - no return it stand to reason they are in stock and on clearance for a reason... Then they offer in home VIP white gove delivery which includes placing it in the room of choice. What it DOES NOT include is assembly - So they actually unbox the item (patio chair) in all the pieces and place it and the bag of hardward on your patio and call that white glove VIP and charge accordingly. That leaves you to call someone to put assemble and pay again. Needless to say the remainder of the order was cancelled and no further orders will be made. Sometimes it worth selling the items on facebook and starting over. Perhaps I should have clarified but I have yet to have to clarify with any other furniture company when ordering "white glove" or VIP delivery... Perhaps there is a page that describes the "shipping instructions" in more detail. I did not order through the Nashville Store, but to do the review I could fine no other way to post the review. It is not the fault of anyone in the store and does refer to the people...
Read moreWhat a difference a year makes! I went to Ballard Designs to run in and see what is new and ending up spending over three hours. Alyse greeted me and proceeded to answer my questions, do internet checks and offer so many great suggestions and ideas. The other girls were also very attentive and checking in on me. They do not work on commission so all were willing to answer questions or help me find products. Alyse is an actual designer not a sales person so her experience and suggestions were thought out. I shop from High Point , S &L, PB and others. I had not been in BD for over a year and found the products I was looking for to be of equal or better quality w a much better price point. I do not normally take the time to write reviews but I had such a good experience today I wanted to give them a shout out and encouragement to continue their service. Big bonus that everything I am looking at is avail to ship in less than a month. I have furniture from other places I ordered in June and still waiting on. I seems they have also taken their design/quality up a notch. I noticed a number of finishes /designs in lamps and case goods to be almost knock offs of some of the very high end companies. Shopping...
