I've been coming to this Jamaicaway for years and 'boy" let me tell you! The owner is always unpleasant, if you look though the comment section she is not authentic when she reply. The same way she reply to the comments starting off with a fake "sorry" then speaking how she really feels, that's how she is in person including her staff. The staff moves really slow when their preparing your food, and please don't ask them to prepare your food a certain way they really get mad and gives off this look as if, you need to get your food and go up out they face with all the extra request "cause they on got time for all that" Lol, killing me softly!! I spent enough money with them over the years and I'm sick of how the Jamaican women have the nastiest attitudes and have the audacity to keep the same attitude "day in" and "day out" please retire the attitude cause at this point yalls done pissed me off, and that young Jamaican girl she's DA WORST !!!! Rolling her eyes, acting real stank cause a customer is talking to much to her, like "my girl" why you always gotta have an attitude.. Almost all of the staff is rude !! If, I'm saying this and all the other comments are saying this as well then it must be true about how their not pleasant at all.(to the owner) Please don't reply to me with a nasty response cause then you'll prove me right about you and your rude staff !! Like, how can yall play church music and then be the total opposite of it.. Come, on now how does that work!! The owner only know how to speak her mind, and not make no real drastic changes to her staff and how they treat the customers... I'd like to make some special request, please ask your staff to stop being rude to the customers it is not our fault they don't like their job, secondly start asking your staff to greet people when they come in the door it, would make it a more warmer feeling knowing that the customer is being acknowledged, thirdly tell them to smile :-))) It's more inviting. Fourth, please ask your staff to help people who has never ate at your establishment navigate through your menu, and do it with a smile and not giving an unpleasant look as if the customer is asking to much when they have never ate there. Fifth, please be kind I brought my co-worker there for the first time and she was disappointed in how your staff treated her. To the owner the way you talk on these comments is truly ugly and your personality is a reflection of your staff and that is why they think it is okay to be nasty to the customers because you are. Corruption comes from within, change the way you treat people and your staff...
Read moreBeware of the Curry Goat!!!! My friend and I decided to have lunch today at this location. My friend and I have eaten here several times in the past and we have always ordered the Curry Goat. Well, today I found a piece of hair in my Curry Goat. I told one of the servers that I found hair in my food. He politely apologized and asked me if I wanted him to remake my order. I said yes, he fixed me a new plate and I went to sit down with my friend. Not too long after, a woman approached our table and proceeded to explain to me that the hair I found in my food wasn’t human hair but hair from the actual goat. My friend and I looked a little puzzled because we have order this dish many times and have never found hair (human or animal) in our food before. I told the lady that the hair I found looked like it was human, she proceeded to correct and said they purchase the meat from a local farmer and the meat comes with the hair on it. Correct if I am wrong, but there should never be hair in food whether it comes from a human or animal. I was really disappointed in the service I received because I didn’t make a scene when I discovered finding the hair in my food and felt like this woman really escalated the situation when there wasn’t a reason to do so. If I am paying $15 for a plate of food, I don’t want to find any hair in my plate nor do I want an explanation for why there is hair in my food. And another thing, I really didn’t have very much goat meat on my plate, most of what I was given was mostly bones and no meat!!! Jamaica way needs to start purchasing their goat meat from a different farm or take this food item off the menu entirely because there is no excuse or reasonable explanation for hair to be on or...
Read moreThis was my second visit to this place, and unfortunately, it will be my last. I’m not sure if it was the cooks on duty or the older, judgmental man who was criticizing our orders.
Yesterday, I ordered two large plates: one with jerk chicken (rice and peas +cabbage)and one with curry(rice&peas+yams). I specifically requested white meat for one plate. As I was waiting for my food, I couldn’t help but notice &hear the older man. He is light skin with a bald head. He decided to criticize me ,and disgust his “dissatisfaction “ in front of me with another employee, because he just didn’t understand why I chose white meat for a jerk dish….its “insulting”…
I was surprised because the menu offered the option of white, dark, or smoke meat. Why would you criticize customers’ choices if you have that option?
I still spent my money, but I wish I hadn’t. The plate with jerk chicken was disgusting. The rice and peas were overcooked and bland, with no hint of coconut milk or sweetness. The chicken was tough and definitely not tender/well seasoned..they through a ton of the jerk sauce they have on the shelves behind them to cover up how bland and tough it was.
My partner’s curry chicken was also bland and lacked any real curry spices. The yams were disrespectfully diced and poured with maple syrup, which was the only two flavors I could taste. The cabbage tasted like it had been boiled in leftover Brussels sprout water.
Overall, I wish I wouldn’t have had the same experience as my first when I traveled to Nashville last year in the fall. For the price I paid this was a terrible experience, and I definitely...
