I will never let this business at any of their locations handle any of my repairs ever again. They managed to fry the motherboard in my laptop while “repairing” it.
The computer was dropped off to them on July 3rd in working order with an obstructed charging port. It wasn’t something they could easily repair so they had to do a replacement. I was initially told the repair would probably be completed by Wednesday (the 8th), which is understandable since the following day was Independence Day. I followed up with them on Tuesday (the 7th) and was told the part needed for repair was to be in later that afternoon and to check on the status the following day.
Wednesday the 9th. I called to get an update and was told that the part had finally arrived and they would start working on it as soon as they could and it would probably be ready by Thursday.
Thursday, July 10th. I called for yet another update. This time I was told that the part was installed but they needed to keep it longer to run tests on it to make sure that it is in working order. Never heard from them again that day.
Today, Friday the 11th, I called first thing this morning and for the first time was told the initial part that was ordered was the wrong part, but the correct part made it to them, so they were installing it. It was to be picked up this afternoon. I received a text at 12:17 stating they have an update on my repair. When I called, I was told that after the correct part was installed they got a “blink” which means that the motherboard was fried possibly due to the power supply by passing this, that and the other (I can’t remember the exact reason I was given because I checked out of the conversation KNOWING this was not by my own doing) and there was nothing more they could do for me.
The only good that came from it is the full refund.
Thanks for coming...
Read moreI dropped off my daughters Picasso Drawing tablet in the morning to get an estimate on a headphone plug removed that was broken inside the jack and hairline scratches removed if at all possible. I would be paying OOP because the device is not insured. The tablet had minor wear & tear with hairline scratches. The gentleman at the desk asked me to wait while he gets an estimate from the Technician in the back to see if the work can be completed. I patiently waited. And he returned, he said that the work can be done and may be ready by the end of the day. I told him I will be back the following day. I received a text from Abigail that evening at 9:09pm to give them a call about my device the following day between 12pm-5pm. When I called them back on Sunday about the device, they let me know that the broken headset jack was removed successfully but they were having trouble getting the screen protector removed that has the scratches on it. But in the process of removing the screen protector, the screen looks damaged. The left side of the protector is peeled and is lifted (2 inches) from the edge. After about 4 days I was so disappointed to see that the tablet was not the way it looked when I dropped it off on Saturday. The aesthetic of the tablet looked busted. Everyone that I encountered was very friendly but, the repair to the protector was unsatisfactory. I called the uBreakiFix store to speak to the Manager or Owner. Asurion corporate office called the next day to rectify the situation by having me drop off the tablet to be repaired by the owner. After a week, we picked up the tablet and the issue was resolved and screen was as fixed. Great...
Read moreWe took my daughters HP Envy laptop in to get a new lid because a hinge had broken from wear of opening and closing. We got a call for the estimate to replace a lid and nothing else was mentioned. When we went to pick it up, the screen was cracked. They tried telling us that it was like that when we brought it in. If it was cracked when we brought it in, of course we would want that repaired as well and I would think the technician would have mentioned the screen being broken when he called for the estimate on the hinge. They finally decided to replace the screen but then wanted to charge us when we went back to pick it up again. I refused to pay for a screen they broke by replacing the lid. After my daughter tried using it, she found out that the edges of the screen did not work and the calibration was off for the touch feature and the screen didn't seem seated in the lid well, there was a gap. We now decided to take it to Geek Squad to see if they could seat the screen properly. After their technician looked at it, they found out the screen and touch board had been replaced with a refurbished third party one. We now have to pay $318 to Geek Squad to replace the screen and touch board with new HP parts instead of aftermarket parts. The manager at Ubreakifix was unprofessional, lied, and scammed us causing a costly repair. This place and their employees are dishonest and shady. I very much do NOT recommend using this company.....at least do not trust the location in...
