All observations and pictures were taken on a day with moderate store traffic (2 people in front of me at cash register): - spilled food and broken containers everywhere: coffee beans all over the place. Nothing cleaned up. - No restocking of merchandise, no removal of empty cardboard boxes, no cleaning up of spilled food - one female employee at returns counter just fiddling with her smartphone. Shooting angry looks at perplexed customers waiting in line, just slacking off while giving customers attitude. - in many cases the shelves just display empty containers (this Costco feels like a store in Venezuela under Chavez or Maduro) - couldn't find one cardboard box with Navel oranges that didn't have mildew and that weren't rotting away - got home and discovered that one of the plastic containers also had bad apples, half rotten - in many cases it looked as if an employee had started a task and then just abandoned it half finished: look at the pictures of the broom parked in a corner or the inventory list left on the shelves or the shopping cart filled with empty cardboard boxes or a roll of pallet wrap left on the merchandise - many aisles halfway blocked by high stacks of empty cardboard containers - harrassed in parking lot by a pack of teenagers from the nearby housing project for money. Can't Costco hire a security force to protect its customers safety while loading their cars? Who is doing the hiring at this Costco in Long Island City? Isn't it time for some adult supervision? I have shopped at this store for 13 years and the store has completely gone to hell! VENEZUELA is here right among us at the local Costco.

I would have expected a response but it goes to show... They don't care. We pull into the most dangerously unattended parking lot I have ever been in. We being myself, wife, and 5 week old. The lot was so filled with uncollected carts, cars were blocked, handicap spots wasted and a man I believe named Raphael with a Cart pulling machine blocking 7 cars into a traffic jam sprinkled with pedestrians risking their lives to get into the store. He refused to move when asked. Upon attempting to return bottles, again unattended, people were arguing and fighting, cutting and general stupidity because on one machine was not filled. This is where it gets WORSE! My wife walks with the baby to ask for help and is told to walk with the baby into the Parking lot to find someone else's to help. When I laid a person, I swear he looked at me, ignores me and kept walking. A customer allowed is to use the machine as at this point our child was in hysterical tears. Then we get inside! There are no wipes for the carts and no hand sanitizer. They were not cleaning the carts prior or providing anything to do so on your own. We were told that there were other places in the store to get the wipes and sanitizer stations. There was nothing in the store. We asked an employee and they tried to tell us where we could find wipes to buy? I also want to make a point of the lack of reasonable actions or thought by the employees. We needed baby wipes, this picture is what we find. Do you want to buy something someone was just walking on?

I been going to this Costco location in Vernon Blvd Long Island City since I became a member in 2011. Great benefits for Costco membership. You have to buy regular membership for $50 but you will get rewarded with cash back for getting points buying from Costco. Executive membership $120 something but again you will be rewarded with cash back. They send monthly discount on whole sale items in mail for member. Convenient parking spot available in front and nice East River with view of Roosevelt Island. They give away tasting of some selected items and put them in sale. They can beat the price of most of the giant stores in New York city. They have a food court and liquor store unbeatable price. Their Chicken bake and turkey sandwich are really good. Their meats are expensive but they taste really good. There is another location in Queens Blvd but this location is better. There is big park behind it near by river for kids to play and family gathering or picnics.
