Dia Chelsea — Attraction in New York

I was so happy to come across this photo exhibition—it truly felt like the arrival of spring. The floral photographs stood out beautifully against the weathered red brick walls, creating such a striking contrast.

Once inside the gallery, I felt like I had stepped outside of Manhattan itself. It gave me a peaceful break from the busy rhythm of the city, allowing me to slow down and appreciate the art installations around me.

I love this place. I call it my church, it has most of my favourite conceptual artists. I love this place because it gives each artist an entire area. I feel like this allows one to get an understanding of the conceptual nature of a conceptual artist. I find it hard to discern and understand a conceptual artists explorations when you do not get to think of a piece in a great system of organized thinking and expirementation. Dia has some brilliant spaces and artwork in New York City. Dia:Beacon and the Earth Room are must-sees for local art fans, and the Broken Kilometer is interesting. However, they also have some truly banal spaces, like the new Dream House, which is small and sad compared to the original.
