East Meadow — Attraction in New York

A slightly less well for wear cousin to Sheep's Meadow. Fenced in, which is nice for keeping tabs on your kids. The grass is in decent shape but there are plenty of bare patches. There are a few rocks for your toddler explorer. A bit overrun with parties and gatherings thrown together with tables and chairs (most without the requisite permit, it would seem). This area was originally envisioned as part of an arboretum that was never built. But it has always been a place of magnificent trees, including some of Central Park’s prized American elms.
