Security is terrible- the man literally stares me up and down as I enter the establishment and start to look around for a basket while standing in my way of accessing the basket- you would think I owed him money. Overall the place is very clean and well organized but seafood and shellfish section- non frozen product- the quality is very questionable. The staff in that section do not know their product and can’t tell the difference between a dead oyster, clam or Mussel from an alive one. The gentlemen there- two younger guys- seemed more interested with bantering and entertaining one another as opposed to helping the guests. Fillet fish and pre packed cleaned seafood- the spine line and ridges are still on on the filled fish- thus more work to do when you get home. Product there looks somewhat spoiled with very fishy - above normal smell and hazy looking fish.
While there are 6 cashiers at any given time it would seem- the service moves like a snail. With all due respect - the ladies are more focused on chatting than ringing people out. There is no customer service- for anyone who knows- will understand the reference - it’s like when you go to a Jamaican spot and the energy is - what do you want- while with the Jamaicans - it’s more cultural and consistent across the board. Here, the ladies seems to be bothered and conscious of which guests gets that experience. And of course when leaving the security guard stayed staring at me, my bags, looking over me back at cashier as if to confirm something. The meat product is overpriced considering how poor service quality is. Otherwise, I’d say it a shell of something that could be great- but the staff there needs further training in service and better variety in produce section. The food bazaar by flushing ave is much better in all of the...
Read moreRacist establishment. Go somewhere else. I purchased ice cream, 2 canned items and two 6 packs of ramen on 3/25, I put the canned items in my pockets due to how small they were. I asked the cashier with blonde steaks in her hair if I was good to walk out the store with the canned items in my pockets, she said yes. Just as I walk away from the cashier, some elderly woman walked over and asked her in Spanish if she saw me put the items in my pockets. I'm Jamaican but I know spanish by way of my self-taught education based off my own interest to learn spanish. When I turned back to look at her in disbelief due to my understanding of what she said, she tried to play it off like she was being casual and then proceeded to talk in English. I WISH I turned back to get her name! Smh

Read moreI love this spot! I will be so sad if it closes bc of gentrification. Great hours, great prices and great selection! They even bump great beats while you get your grocery shopping on. They have amazing Hispanic brands and selections. They even have a pretty legit beer and wine selection. Ice cream cakes and birthday cakes, yep... they got those too! I even downloaded their app! Been coming here for over 15 years and it has only improved! It reminds me of shopping at a western beef in queens as a kid. Their weekly deals are bomb and they even have a full size parking lot and have can and bottle recycle machines out back. They even carry feline pine cat litter... I'm impressed ! Their produce is on point and they have a legit deli. If u live in the area and get your groceries etc from a trader Joe's or whole foods, you're blowing it and should relocate yourself to Williamsburg, park slope,or whatever white bread town you came from. Oh yeah, speaking of white bread... they...
