I have gone from an extremely pleasant experience to an extremely unpleasant experience at this store and will be going somewhere else from now on. I urge you not shop here if you value your time and money.
Back in May I went to this Suit Supply to order a customized suit for a wedding in July. On this day I had an incredible floor associate named Jesse help me pick the color, fabric, fitting, and all customizations and I was extremely happy with the experience as well as the Three-Piece Suit itself. In fact I was so happy I had Jesse recommend me a shirt, tie and a pair of shoes to accompany me to the wedding. When the suit was completed and delivered he checked everything over with me and altered the suit to ensure it was perfect. A week after the alteration it was time to get the suit and this is where everything went bad. I made an appointment online with Jesse so I could pick it up specifically from him (I even wanted to tip him well for his assistance). However upon arriving he was not there so I went with another associate who I will not name. Everything I ordered was there and I asked to try it on to make sure it all fit. The shirt they ordered for me did not fit and the wedding was next week. The associate told me not to worry about it as we will just exchange the shirt, however they did not have any in stock. He went to go get sample shirts for me to determine the size I need and took 15 minutes to get a shirt. Too small. Then I waited another 10 minutes to find him to tell him it didn't fit and he casually went to get another shirt size up which took another 15 minutes. It didn't fit again so I had to traverse the whole store to look for him and I found him laughing with his co-worker. I gave him the shirt and just asked him to bring out multiple shirt sizes which took another 15 minutes to receive. Finally I find my fit and he guarantees delivery to my apartment by Friday of that week as I need it the following Wednesday. I am currently writing a review the following Tuesday with no shirt and the latest update is that the shirt will be delivered to the store tonight by 8 pm, meaning I have a chance of not having the shirt by the time I have to fly out because the store closes at 7. Thanks Suits Supply for inconveniencing my plans and telling me lies (like how the shirt will guaranteed arrive Friday even though I'm sure you knew it wouldn't). Also picking up my altered suit after trying it on should be a 30 minute ordeal. Not a 2 hour one.
Jesse is awesome. The other guy, not so much.
Update: Just called Customer Service and I'm not getting the shirt in time. All they could say...
Read moreI stopped by the Suitsupply store at Hudson Yards yesterday Dec 15, 2024 with my partner around 2 PM. It was an unplanned visit—just a quick stop to check out what’s new since we weren’t looking for anything specific. We stumbled upon a cardigan we really liked and wanted to try it in an XL.
While we were searching for the size, a store associate noticed us and asked if we were being helped. We said no and asked if he could assist us in finding the size XL. At first, he seemed willing to help, but then directed me to scan the QR code on his phone to “get checked in” and “situated with a style expert.”
I wasn’t looking for style advice or anything custom—I just wanted to try on the cardigan in a larger size. As I scanned the QR code, he casually remarked, “It may be 5… or maybe 10 minutes or longer of a wait,” with a dismissive tone and an eye-roll that made it clear he didn’t think I was worth the time or effort.
I was still prepared to wait, but his next comment was outright disrespectful. He said, “It’s not like H&M where you can just walk in and find the size you want,” as if implying that I shop at H&M. The tone, the eye-roll, and the demeaning implication were unprofessional and insulting.
For context, my first suit was made at this very Hudson Yards location back in 2019. Since then, I’ve shopped at Suitsupply’s Madison Avenue and Brookfield Place locations and had excellent experiences every time, whether buying custom or ready-to-wear. In fact, I just returned from Savile Row, London, where I picked up some exceptional fall/winter pieces last week, so I know what good service and quality feel like.
What I experienced at Hudson Yards yesterday was far from it. Instead of being treated like a valued customer, I was made to feel like I didn’t belong. A simple “Have a seat, we’ll find the size for you” and maybe an offer of water (since, according to the associate, Suitsupply isn’t H&M) would have gone a long way. Instead, his condescending tone left such a bad taste in my mouth that I walked out.
Suitsupply prides itself on offering premium service and products, and I’ve seen this reflected in other locations. But the Hudson Yards store failed miserably in meeting that standard. If the staff at this location cannot handle customers respectfully on a busy Saturday, perhaps they shouldn’t be on the...
Read moreCame to this store upon recommendation of a friend (many years ago) and in need of a suit for my husband on his wedding day. I honestly expected him to just browse but he was greeted promptly when he walked in and was told that a stylist would soon come to us when available. We browsed for less than 5 minutes and was promptly greeted by Davon (i think that’s how you spell it).
He walked my husband through options (suit jacket, inner vest, and trousers) and gave him some floor samples to try on. Davon was pretty knowledgeable because he could already estimate my husband’s general measurements before even pulling the samples for him to wear (ie he correctly pulled suit jackets in the 38-40 range and correctly guessed his trouser size to be 32-34), which I found cool. He was very professional and efficient in the process and he has a good eye for things as well! For example, my husband was at a bit of a loss when he was asked to pick his button colors, but Davon recommended a solid option for us to choose. I also liked how he would tell my husband his options and when my husband didn’t understand the difference (ie padded shoulders vs unpadded, fully lined vs unlined, pleats vs no pleats, etc) he would always find a sample to show us the difference and even pulled a coworker aside who had pleated pants to show us what it looked like.
We probably werent at the store for more than 30 minutes! Which is pretty cool. I also appreciated how he asked us if we wanted water when we first came in (we refused) and when my husband was trying on the pants, he asked me again if I needed anything.
Granted, my husband is not picky at all and not super knowledgeable about suits or clothes in general, so take our experience with a grain of salt. But overall, I definitely don’t have any complaints about our experience here. Thank you for the visit! Can’t wait to see the suit...
