I have made regular trips to this coffee shop over the last year as I spend a decent amount of time in Hudson Yards. The drinks are sort of inconsistent but the staff was always friendly and it is one on the only places I could use a restroom in this part of the city. On my most recent visit, the very unfriendly staff informed me that they don't have a restroom and when I received my $6 drink it was considerably less impressive than I remember. I want to be able to support local business with morally sustainable business practices, but I also need to use the bathroom. As a New Yorker, my relationship with coffee shops after 1pm usually revolves around me paying $6 for a coffee so I can also stop and do as nature intended. I understand a 'customers only' policy, or simply being nice about it since I regularly came it, bought an outrageously priced coffee and tipped well. But I was treated very poorly. I work in a coffee shop, the nice part about visiting other coffee shops is that at least the staff is usually respectful. I will be giving myself another 20 minutes from now on so I can get off the train at Herald Square so I can stop at Starbucks ( where they at least treat their customers respectfully and have a restroom). Being downright rude and mean to customers is a great way to loose them quickly. What a...

The people are nice, the decor is pleasant, there is an ample array of baked goods, oatmeal, portable sandwiches and such, the coffee is fine, and the baristas know what they're doing. In sum, there is a fairly high standard for base quality. It's just not the last word when it comes to a cafe. All above the items mentioned are good, but anonymous. It's a higher quality version of Starbucks (not many would come for a single origin espresso) and that's fine. Save for the fact that it doesn't have WiFi, I would chose it above Starbucks 100% of the time. There are just so many good options today that I personally would go somewhere else. But I was constrained by location and had to meet a group, so given the circumstances I can't expect much more. We live in a fine time given that this cafe only...
Read moreOne of the worst coffees of my life.
I have been living in Spain for the past decade and I can assure you that the Café con leche (Coffee with milk) does not taste like that.
I ordered 2 "cafés con leche". I was surprised when I saw that they had already prepared the coffee, stored in a can, which they used to prepare our order adding some milk.
The coffee didn't taste as it was supposed at all. It was a watery untasted liquid (even if it was the smallest sized cup), which it ended in the trash.
These were the 7 worst spent dollars of my life.
Please, learn how to prepare a normal coffee, as it is your core business. For the 3,50!!! usd that you charge, at least try to offer some quality and not quantity!
P.S. the staff was great and...
