I've lived right next door for over 30 years and if you like chain restaurants, this is the spot. Chipotle, Five Guys, Starbucks, even a surprisingly good Burger King inside the "Bolla Market" attached to the gas station. There's a Chase bank at the end, and some stores I haven't mentioned because they're changing owners at the moment. The real star of this Plaza is Centre Pizza. As NY residents we all think we know the best pizzeria but I promise you, Centre is king. Great service, commodious and clean dining area with huge tables for evenings out, but most importantly hands down the best pizza you'll ever have in Queens or Nassau.
I've given it 4 instead of five stars for one reason : parking. It's such a tiny lot for all these popular franchise stores!! Glen Oaks shopping center has a lot about 5 times bigger, but no fast food except a McDonald's. I've personally witnessed 3 accidents in the narrow lot at this place, but other people's idiocy shouldn't ding the Plaza's rating. Just drive very slowly and be very alert when parking and leaving, please. People are always backing out without looking. But some defensive driving on your part and you'll be just fine.
Try some of Centre's pizza with your favorite Starbucks creation (They're right next to each other) for a truly transcendent...
Read moreI went to the bagel store and I was a little disappointed with the bagels. I did not find them to be the plump NY bagels I am use to with the crisp outside, fluffy inside. They were also a little short on the cream cheese. But it is in a very convenient location if you are traveling the highway. Coffee was good but they didn't give me a sleeve and they don't offer any creamers only flavor syrup. Not everyone can make the perfect NY bagel but they can at least acknowledge you have walked in there establishment and they will help you shortly. I give the 2 stars for this reason which falls on ownership. But i will say it again its convenient for traveling the long Island expressway (495)..
I'm adding to this post 8/2025 Went to this establishment this morning and again no one will a knowledge you walked in or even say hello when it's your...
Read moreI've been going to this mall since 1987 (yes, I'm old). The unofficial anchor is arguably Centre Pizza, which is still bustling over 30 years later and has since doubled in size. This mall isn't QUITE your one-stop-shop for everything, but the diversity has definitely improved over the decades.
Oddly, the businesses on the east side of the mall tend to come and go at a rapid pace while the ones closer to the west tend to stick around for a lot longer. But I believe the landlord is the same one who plunged Douglaston Plaza into the Earth's core, so don't get too attached to your favorite store.
The parking lot is pandemonium. It floods when there's 2cm of rain, and the elderly drivers and soccer moms constantly barreling in and out will make your life flash before your eyes. Especially if you're a pedestrian. Avoid it...
