I highly do not recommend this place which is rude to customers if they wish to change their order within 24 hours. If you change your mind they will deny you business. - Ordered lense and frames from this business, from sales agent Kristina as an out of state customer. Within 24 hours I called to ask to reduce my order to frames only due to the inability to return to the store in person if i had any issues with the lense. The sales agent Kristina told me that in order to take the frames only she would need to cancel my entire order and redo the order as a frames only. She advised that the insurance company will probably close within the next hour and that she will call the insurance in the next 4 days (Monday, the next business day). to avoid any issues with return policies I Immediately called my insurance company which confirmed they would be open for in fact the next 3 hours, and could help cancel the insurance claim. My insurance company was able to do this within the same day less than 30 minutes. Two weeks later when I called Ocean Opticals, Kristina, to proceed with the next step which we agreed to order only my frames, and exclude lenses due to my comfortability with being out of state, Kristina told me she could not proceed with my order. Kristina said she could not proceed with my order due to the way she believed things ended, and would need to ask the owner if they can do business with me and wanted to call me back the next day with her decision. Read moreI wanted to share my Long story that started back in 2021. I have a eye diagnosis of Karetconous (which is bulging and lost of the cornea of the eyes and could lead to blindness). I needed a Optical store that could understand what I was going through and know exactly what I needed when I had to get my glasses made. I Google so many stores and Ocean Optical popped up. Something about this store stood out to me and I gave them a call. The young lady I spoke to on the phone was the same person I dealt with in the store. She was Amazing and so helpful. Unfortunately an issue happened with the eye doctors office I went to. They did not give me the correct reading for my glasses prescription. I was so annoyed cause I just paid for new glasses and now I have to pay for new ones to get remade. I thank God for Lee, he was so patient caring helpful and more. I finally got my money back from the doctors office and was able to bye my new and correct eye prescription. Lee took care of me and everything I needed and I am literally seeing a whole new world. I can read street signs, I can finally see my computer and phone correctly without bringing it up to my face all thanks to Lee and his staff for all their hard work and caring hearts. I have referred Ocean Optical to family and friends and they were all satisfied with the treatment and out come of their services. This is the store you should choose you will be satisfied. The only reason why this place has a 4-star review at the time of this post is because the old management (which apparently changed about 3 years ago) sold to completely incompetent individuals.
My wife and I went back in after some time to get a new prescription and a new pair of frames each as we were moving and insurance would be ending. Not only did the prescription I got not work (I ended up wasting $100 bringing it to another store and didn't realize the prescription was wrong until the new pair was made - no refund on deposits obviously) but they ended up breaking my wife's only pair of glasses right in the middle of our move. I can't begin to describe the nightmare of trying to move without being able to properly see.
The excuse? "We told you there was a risk in adjusting your old pair." That's essentially like telling someone in a car crash after you hit them, "well you knew the road was dangerous." The idiocy. A professional (definitely not the guys who used to own this place) would never have done something so careless just because "there's a risk" therefore I can treat your glasses however I want.
The best part, we get her "fixed" glasses in the mail 3 weeks later and THEY'RE STILL...
