Hayashi Sushi — Restaurant in New York

Been coming here for years. Consistently Delishus solid sushi spot owned by Chinese family. Fish is always fresh, they have a revolving menu of interesting specials. Standouts include their Rock shrimp fried shrump app, a lovely eggplant app, white tuna carpachio, a blackened tuna app that tastes like the perfect filet mignon. Have had more or less everything on the menu here. Always a tasty treat. At times have this place to my self for lunch(till 4 pm) fullish for dinner. Fairly crowded on the weekend. They are usually perfect with my food but this time I ordered my California roll fried & they charged me $8 for one when a regular California roll is $3.50. I called back to explain & the lady said I ordered a special and that she repeated my order back to me which was false & if that were true the California roll didn’t come with the other ingredients that it supposably supposed to come with & I would’ve said that I wanted 4 shrimp tempura rolls instead of the 2 they gave me. She messed up my order when I ordered 4 shrimp tempura rolls & only received 2. My whole order of 4 shrimp tempura rolls & 2 California rolls should have came out to $21 plus tax of $2.04. They gave me 2 shrimp tempura and 2 California rolls for $25....

Always the freshest and highest quality fish. The head chef is very creative with his dishes and likes to try new things. Restaurant grades is an A and the kind of A you don't mind when going into the actual report (which I highly recommend before eating at any restaurant). Been a long time customer here. Tried other places and even might have switched to another place closer to home as my "go to" sushi but couldnt find anything that could compare or compete with Hyashi. The staff and service is great. They get extremely busy and have a large take out clientele as well, the phone rings off the hook but they do everything necessary to not keep you waiting too long.
